Has any one else noticed this is a slack period for momentous news?

There is nothing to get tore into and get the old mega threads going again.
For a rabble rousing tommy rot talker such as myself it is very boring. :hihi: :hihi:

Seriously you must agree the most contentious thing has been wether we should have the 'thumbs up' symbol back on the main board. :hihi:

It hardly bears comparison to the great political threads of just a few months ago does it. :(

I was just suggesting yesterday that we get Barty back on the Forum, just to liven the place up a bit.

It's got like a morgue on here sometimes - where are all the old rabble-rousers, and controversial and stimulating threads? Subjects you could get your teeth into - it's all gone too 'nice' and 'boring'.

Come on, Mini - the Form needs you again! ;)

When I were a lad the newspaper 'silly season' lasted for the time that Parliament wasn't sitting - typically the summer.

Nowadays it seems that there's longer periods when the world ticks along quietly (at least accoridng to the press!). I was quietly surprised earlier this week when the front pages of the tabloids were full of news about Lord Browne, just a day or so before some fairly important elections.

Ah well, that's the free press that people often go on about. :)

Sheffield Council's now hung ... isn't there anything you two can find to argue about in that?

edit: Oi! The language on this Forum is English, not Yorkshire! :) That's not Yarksha, that's Sheffeld ;)

Just for one wonderful moment, Ruby, I thought that someone had resolved the City's problems.

Then I realised that you meant there was now no overall political control. :D

:nono: bad man! We all love redrobbo, we don't want to see him hanged ... or do we?

Although the Council now has two excellent new members and two returnees ... I can't say which party, of course, but the colour gold might figure prominently somewhere ;)

One good thing, the Tory Deputy Leader in Calderdale lost his position after 20 years, deep joy.

But I'm a Tory and I'm sure you would love to be in in a deep position with me ?? :)

The blue rinse and the bits of dead fox could be rather off putting though, cloudy.
