Watching all the snooker on tv I have been inspired to join a club and improve my game! Anybody know of any?

Depends where you live,

Clubs in Hillsborough, Fox Hill, Netheredge are all good.

I think there is one off Sharrowvale Road. Don't know if it's any good though.

Yeah-Rileys. Its spot on. Lots of snooker & american pool tables + big screen sports and a decent bar n bar food. Nicely done up as well and not intimidating like some of the dodgier ones.

Or Frames as it's known to us old timers. Top place.

There's one at Gleadless Townend too.

I'd recommend the Allied Snooker Centre at Townend to anyone (it hasn't been a Riley's for the best part of a decade for anybody that remembers it as such).

Privately owned, privately run, quiet in the snooker area, decorum at the bar, no nonsense tolerated.

It does what it says on the tin.

I find it quite poor.

Lot's of tables, yes.

Decor is terrible. Table lights are cobbled together with very cheap wood. Horrible office style ceiling and carpet.

Food is terrible.

Music is always on too loud.

No atmosphere AT ALL.

very much feels like a 'chain'

Riley's on Sharrowvale Road is ace. Open 24 hours (bar isnt tho) and it's very friendly. No dodgy characters. It can get pretty busy tho and you may have to wait for a table.

Riley's are doing a free one-month trail membership at the moment.

I've just joined the one in Rotherham town centre and it's pretty impressive.

Damn, I assumed the bar in Rileys by The Lescar would be 24hours too. Anyone know what hours it keeps?

not sure if its any good but there is Hillsborough snooker club off halifax rd near pheasant inn. i been goin in 4 years n theres about 20 full size snooker tables with 1 pool table. its a nice quiet atmosphere but there is always loads of stupid young ones in messing about. the staff are also very friendly.
