Hey all,

I've been considering for a while selling my PC and replacing it with a laptop, i'm just looking for sme advice really as to whether this is a wise move. I use my PC for gaming and music, but rarely use it as my girlfriend is on it a lot for Uni work, so I find it missing out on the power it has (if that makes sense). I also have an XBOX 360 which i can use for the more powerful games.

Now, my theory is that if I sell my PC for a decent amount, I can use that money to buy a decent laptop to use for current strategy games (dawn of war series, company of heroes etc.) and also music and video, without feeling that the system is going to waste because I'll not be on it very often.

Is it worth doing this? Are laptops more use in my situation? How much will a decent laptop set me back? And most importantly, how much could I get for my PC?

Here's what would be included:

P4 3.00ghz Proc,
1 gb RAM,
80gb HD
ATI Radeon x1650 512mb gfx
DVD rom
CD Writer
17inch LCD Monitor
Brand New Optical Mouse
Optical keyboard
Speakers (not sure of the spec but only a couple of months old)
Norton Internet Security (until October then update thru net)

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

The problem is twofold - first that resale value of old PCs is poor, and second that the price of a really powerful laptop is still quite high (though you can get basic laptops for not a lot these days they won't play the latest games that well.)

You need £800 for a laptop to play games on. you wont get half that for your PC.

No, a wireless keyboard.

And if i'm looking at getting less than £400 for my PC then I'll just keep it. The gfx card cost me 150 on its own.

Thanks for your advice!

No, a wireless keyboard.

Yes, i'd guessed that.

I was just being a little facetious. Sorry. :)
