hello people new to this forum looking to be renting a flat in sheffield, i currently own an house in barnsley but me and the girlfriend going through split up so house has to be sold, i work near shopcote lane so public transport ie near tram stops would be handy.

Any one got any recommendations at ll for people to rent with ideally not estate agents who charge silly amounts for there services.

Stay away from Blundells - their 'administration fees' are extortionate (over £85 per let). I've found that looking in shop/post office windows is quite good and tends to get you cheaper prices but not perhaps as 'secure' as renting with an Estate Agent. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I was talking to my landlady the other day who i had rented a house through blundells with. She said blundells charge landlords £400 to find tenants. So for each house they charge around £500! How does it cost this much for some brochures, advertising and to print a pre written contract out?

I dont know where shopcote lane is but there is a really beautiful house for rent in Stannington on rivelin valley. you should have a look at the housing avaliable posts and look at the 'houses for rent in walkley and rivelin valley' I saw them advertised and they look really lovely.

don't rent from Lewis Wadsworth. Once they've got you (and charged you for the privilege) they seem not to care at all.

Hi,

Just if you are still lookin I was working for Avesta on Shepcote Lane last year and lived on eccy road.

I used spencers and found they were damn good and fom eccy road you cah get any 80 bus into town and ither the A1 (which stops along shepcote lane) the tram (after a short walk) or the 120 (I thin it is the 120) which stops near meadowhall by the canal which is good for the bottom of shepcote lane (tinsley area)!

Hoep that helps

sorry if this doesn't make sense I am in a rush!

Cheers

Jack
