Anyone any knowledge of how piecework and the minimum wage fit together?
A pal of mine is being "hounded" at work because he's apparently not successful enough at producing his X items a day, and his employer "isn't allowed" to pay him below the minimum wage per week.
Any thoughts?

I should possibly add/clarify something....
The employer IS paying him the minimum wage, but in effect is subsidising him in order to do so.

thats tough for the employer then. probably some are producing more than expected so it should even its self out. although i have no doubt that if it continues they will find some way to get rid of him.
