Hi,

Try the Showroom or The Runaway girl... never been to the latter, but heard it's v good.

Hope this helps

i'd agree that the showroom would be your best bet

Showroom is expensive and a bit poncey

Howard is rammed full of students

I'd suggest the Penny Black or Queens Head

The Rutland on Paternoster Row, though I don't know if they've started doing food again yet.

Avoid the Showroom and the Runaway Girl if you don't like poncy pretentious places serving fizzy pop.

I'm guessing that your wanting a nice place for an after work drink...

Showroom hands down.

Only ever been to the Queens Head once - just a usual boozer, nowt special.

PS Never been to the Runaway girl but that'd be my next choice

Sorry I don't know the street names, but if you're looking for the Runaway Girl: just come out of the station and walk UP - ie, up the new padestrian steps in front of the station, keeping the Showroom on your left. Cross the road, and walk up the padestiran hill with all the funny little light things, up to near the top (Hallamshire Uni on your right, Arundel Gate in front of you)and the RG is on the last (i think!) lane on your left ... that's clear in my head, by maybe not in words!

ps it's lovely there. i've not eaten there ever, but the food looks good. And there's an open mic poetry evening the first or second wednesday of the month, which is rather cool!
