Can anyone tell me roughly how far it is from Sheffield Train station to the Hallam FM Arena - and roughly how much it would cost to get there in a taxi? Thanks.

I'd get the tram, it's much cheaper.

approx 5 mile and taxi fare around £5-6 mark,do'nt forget to call in the noose and gibbet , good ale in there :)

I know it'll be cheaper but I'm thinking of convenience when I've got two kids and my delightful girlfriend in tow!
If anyone knows how far and how much then it'd be much appreciated.

Cheers fridgeman - I think after sitting through toy story 2 at the arena I might need a pint!

it's pretty convenient to take the tram and depending on traffic probably just as quick. Although with 4 of you the taxi won't cost much more.

From the train station the tram stop migth be closer than the taxi rank (depending on which platform), and from the arena stop you're only about 50 metres from the cinema.

Yellow and Purple tram routes call at the Arena. Tram information www.supertram.com

Bear in mind when shows at the Arena end the traffic is solid for about an hour as everyone tries to leave at the same time.
