miniminch 29-04-2007, 18:58 proposal for a group for chronically shy and antisocial people
hello, all shy people everywhere. Would you like to belong to a group for people like you?? Yes? Come on speak up!! OK!
Our meetings will be great, as we will all turn up at different venues in dark glasses in case you meet someone else by accident.
I could easily moderate it myself as no one will have anything to say for fear of looking stupid.
What do you say, moderators?:suspect:
If I don't get any replies I'll take it as a yes.

There is a massive difference in personalities you are asking for here.
I'm not shy but I am quite antisocial. I don't mix well in large groups but I can stand up and deliver speeches and training courses.
I don't particularly like socialising with folk I don't know, this makes me antisocial, however I am loud and brash and not shy at all.
Can I join or would I upset the shy people?

You are right, but all the shy people will be too shy to join, and the antisocial people couldn't give a
I'm not shy or antisocial, it's just my aspergers means I have poor social skills so I tend to avoid big social occassions if I can at all help it.
I'd support a group for people who don't have this excuse though, not that it's really an excuse in my case, it's a genuine reason for why I'm not good at socialising, never have been.
