i'd have thought that a binge was more like 12 or maybe 14 units and upwards. depends a little bit on the person though, if you're a lightweight maybe it's 8.

I wouldn't class someone as a lightweight if it took you 8 units to get drunk. I think it's more like 3/4 units to get you drunk would class you as a lightweight.

Anyway it depends on your weight also, a 6'6" 14 stone man would be able to drink a lot more than a 5'7" 8 stone man wouldn't he?

confusing a pint with a unit might indicate that you're drunk at the moment?

I seriously hope you are exaggerating as that is enough to kill you several times over. If you drank 48 units in one night you would be dead.

I always thought binge drinking was when you didn't drink for a long time then went on "a binge" drinking to excess. Hic!

Nah, you can binge 7 nights in a week.

I'm fairly heavyweight (I think) - other night had nothing to eat all day then 6 double vodka and red bulls in the space of an hour (12 units?) and still felt sober relative to everyone else - sometimes I get tipsy off two drinks

Quite glad that I haven't had a serious (beyond 11am) hangover in months, and I almost always dont feel any effects in the morning, no matter how drunk I was the night before.

You have to sober up to get a hangover ....

Yeah, but surely you should at some point get some form of hangover. The wost I seem to get is a bit of a dodgy feeling in my stomach, cured by a decent fried breakfast instantly...

I used to get them every time I drank, but I just don't now :)

I must say that I've hardly touched a drop since seeing 'Rain In My Heart' on TV last week (and I classify myself as a moderate imbiber). Has it had a similar effect on anyone else?

I used to feel a bit of an alien for not buying into the binge drinking craze. But now I see why and trust my judgement :hihi:

On a serious note, I have seen many lives wasted or wasting away with binge drinking. In my line of work, it is filled with a majority of people who want decent money to supplement there weekendly habits. It is a shame, because there are some geniunely decent and intelligent peoples who's lifes are being committed to a 16k a year wage just because they want weekends free.
