Got a knock on the door this morning at 06.15, it was a female police officer. She told me there had been a major incident and asked if I had heard or seen anything. Also got a visit from a female CID officer asking the same question, this was at 09.30. There is police tape round the house in question and we've seen forensic officers. There has been a constant police precence, must be something pretty serious.

That's not really a major incident. A major incident involves evacuation of homes, large number of casualties, etc.

Sorry I stand corrected! Pretty major for the poor guy that has been shot.

That's just down the road from us - a little unnerving to say the least. Hope the fella's ok. Just checked: No news on Star site or SYP site yet.

This is is true at 5.30 am they forced entry & shot the dog dead then shot Mick in the leg rumours are saying it was revenge for an arguement with someone off the flower estate but as far as im aware Mick is ok :) (rumours are like chinese whispers dont believe all you hear :) )

That's not really a major incident. A major incident involves evacuation of homes, large number of casualties, etc.

Thats just an everyday occurrence around here (Wincobank) Gun crime seems to be happening every week. A family were moved after they were threatened by masked men carrying guns the other week. The people next door were threatened by armed men in there own house last summer, The shops on fife st have been raided twice by people with guns. it's starting to look like the wild west here on lower Wincobank.

Fife St. twinned with Tombstone

Really? When? We live up on Standon and I don't recall anything like this happening since we moved in last June. Maybe I'm not getting out of the house enough. Or maybe I'm doing the sensible thing by staying indoors.

I just wish I knew something about this incident so I could report the blighters to the police.

It happened on the fife street estate last summer and then again a few months back near to where my youngest lives on Fife gardens. A month ago the bottom of Fife st was closed by police at 6am on a Saturday, then what used to be the video shop was robbed, Last year the guy in the shop opposite the Conny club was shot. One Sunday last Summer a gang of black youths were running around looking for someone and they were armed The same day a house on fife way had it's windows smashed A couple on Fife way were moved three months ago after armed men broke into there house The refugee who lived on Jedburge was beaten up for no reason and his house trashed , the next house but three the tennent set fire to it with himself inside. Yesterday A young girl was beaten by two asian youths on Jedburg...No it's not that bad

Why do residents not know about this then I lived on Jedburge Drive just over a year ago now I live on Fife Street we never got or see any of this  One incident brings so much information or is a lot of it speculation hence the
My partner has lived here 17 years & is so happy with the area he wont even move to Standon Road to a bigger house after we get married

Bloody hell. We nearly bought a house on Fife Street near Jedburgh, but opted for Standon instead.

I'm utterly amazed and speechless :o

I know the bottom of Fife Street's looks a bit of a dump and I've had a couple of nobhead kids try to scare me, but I didn't know there was /that/ much agro down there.

It sounds like things are a little out of control. Has anyone considered setting up some kind of neighbourhood watch scheme?

Object to the bottom of Fife street being a dump seen as one of those dumps is my house thank you :o
Most of this I did not know the other week the road was closed all the way to blackburn because of a police raid on a pub due to an drug bust (bad feeling from some aho had trashed the pub a few weeks before and got barred so they chose be be ********s) just to clear that one up ;)
