It has been thrown around for a few years but an article in the Star (yes I do read it) suggests that the Station will go up for sale and be used in a development for luxury flats.

Most operations will go to Snig Hill, some to Attercliffe and some to Nunery Square.

Another landmark gone? Yes, but in my opinion an outdated and ugly one at that.

If the plans go through that is, then Cole brothers (I wont call it john Lewis) will move onto the Fire HQ. The new Eyre street station will be just that, a station. The South Yorkshire HQ has been rumoured to be going to Barnsley.
