hi chris. would love to get together with everyone. Keith gooden's mum just moved but don't think its far away, thinks its near the shops somewhere. will get my mum on it to get in touch with Keith. Sean told me this morning about you contacting him. will get him to come also. Dawn Watkinson who used to live upstairs will come too. am in regular contact with her and do you remember her sister June? there is Dean and John, sadly John not with us anymore tho. Will be a great night/afternoon.

you know I can't believe it. would have been a good laugh. meeting up after all these years. Sean would not come cos wifey not happy about him going out without her! she funny like that, even though his sister would be with him. Its such a shame. mind you have u seen spotswood close lately. Bin about 4 burnt out cars on wyvern car park in last month or so, even the landlady had her car done! hopefully though we will all meet up some time. :roll:

Yeah I called up at Michael's a couple weeks ago and saw the burnt-out car on the pub car park, also bumped into Derek, Michael's dad just as he was coming out of the pub. I see the Far Lees is boarded up as well.
Anyway Michael and Carol are both up for a little get-together so we may as well try and set something up. He's going to try and contact the Gratton's and Gibson's and along with his sisters and Carol's should be a few of us anyway. We'll have to hope Laurie comes back on. I can contact Joanne if need be.
We just need a time and place. Straight off the top of my head what about Friday 8th June?

Early hours here, the only chance I get these days to get on line. I'll be making one on the 8th. Michael has spoken to Toni - he saw her last night so she phoned me to give me an earful for not telling her!! I would've done- it was def. on my 'to do asap' list (trouble is that's a long list at the moment) anyhow, it is her nieces 21st on that night but she says she will come for the first hour at least and then have to go to the 21st 'do'. Our Joanne is also going to come I believe - she's logged on to the Forum tonight Chris. Thanks to your call to Gaz & Sharon last night. Sharon told Jo to go to my space though so Jo got hold of me as obviously she wasn't getting any joy on there! It looks like being a small but select gathering!!! will try to get back on here soon. It's was always gonna be tricky trying to set up something like this and so it has transpired. Looks like 1 or 2 people can't make it and to be honest something has cropped up for me as well. So.
Is there any chance that we could put this back 2 weeks to Friday the 22nd? pleeeeease. It will also give people a bit more notice to get in touch with others although I have to say it looks pretty popular so far. I have no idea how to get in touch with him to tell him it's changed - could we get anyone on to that asap or he'll think I am a right chuff! It's all looking good so far, although I have to say that it is mainly/entirely thanks to Michael who has been able to get in touch with quite a few people who are looking forward to the little soirée. Can't say who's coming. We'll just have to wait and see, hopefully nice surprises all round.

no point in trying to get sean. honestly, he wont go. cant upset the wife. anyway friday in the wyvern may be a bad idea as mum told me that its bingo for the oldies. so cant see a bit of chatter and laughter going down well with them. still up for meeting up but maybe we ought to either think of another night or another venue. :hihi:

The Wyvern just seemed like an appropriate starting point. As Laurie said, if it's nice we could stand outside, after that we could go somewhere else if people want to.

Got a phone call this morning from Keith Gooden. He asked about the date. told him the 22nd. he phoning me on that date for the time. don't know how he got my number tho. mind you think Sharon's lad, leon might have given it to him cos he and my lad mates. weird that. Leon and Liam used to be best of mates, don't see each as much now but know they talk online sometimes.

Anyway. let me know the time and will see you then.

Was wondering when anyone was confirming, saw Joe and he said Mary had said it was changed - glad it hasn't - this didn't link to my inbox as the other mails have and I have kept meaning to check. Anyhow, will be there around 8pm on Friday then - looking forward to it. Wouldn't be the same if we didn't go in the Wyvern - surely bingo not in both rooms? Let's hope for nice weather too.

Hi Chris, Lazarus has just let me know that the bingo is only in the 'best room' so if it's not glorious on the weather front we'll be in the Tap room - s'okay with me - how about everyone else???? If it's too smokey we'll have to prise the windows open.

well I have to say what a great night that was. I loved it. seeing everyone like that was brilliant. best night out in ages. lots of people turned up. lots didnt but please lets do it again soon. somewhere nicer tho next time.!!:hihi:

Yeah it was a good night. It was interesting to see every one again after soooooooo long. Pity a few more didn't turn up but with the change of dates and people having holidays etc. it was probably difficult for some.
Sarah what was Dawn's head like the day after? Did she get to the airport?

Dawn said she couldn't remember how she got home. she remembered after a while tho. she seemed fine to me. she did have a hangover but she did manage to drop brother-in-law off at airport tho. I do wish everyone had turned up and was a pity that some peeps left after a short while. know Tony Slack had been on a double shift and only got up to come to reunion but was very tired. that is understandable. You star tho Chris for starting the ball rolling. was great night.

Sorry I haven't been on, I have been waiting for a pop up in my mailbox that said someone had been on and it's not happened. Yes, Sarah, I enjoyed the night and I echo your thanks to Chris for sorting it all out. It was smashing - I was pleasantly surprised to see as many of the'moms' there - didn't expect that and if I had known I would have made sure my Mom had joined us. Also sure that I would have stayed until the 'death' if I had brought Pete - I didn't expect any other halfs to be there - except Carol of course as she qualified in her own right! Michael did do well getting in touch with as many as he did, it was a shame that none of the Goodens or Knights made it, would have been nice to see them. I have just thought that Cathy Crocker (now Wood) might have come too - if we do it again I will make a better effort to think and contact people. 'Night for now.

you were there till the end Laurie. just think that lesley and rebecca and family only stayed for one drink then most of them went to another pub for the rest of the night. would have been nice if they had stayed for the duration. I know Sharon gooden had to work that friday night and thats why she couldn't come. don't know why Keith didn't come though. Was a shame Sean didn't come cos everybody asked where he was. he was missed thats for sure. he would have loved it. I don't know anyone that has ever had a reunion like ours. usually its school reunions.

You're right Sarah, I don't know of anyone who has done that type of reunion either - much better realy as it encompassed all ages. Am diving about this morning but I will try and get on for a bit of a chat at some point and to see if we are ever going to do it again. Take care, catch you soon x:)

I have been meaning to get back on but as usual not enough hours in each and every day. Whatever we decide to do I'll go along with it. Off on annual hol's on Thursday (16 of us to Turkey for 2 wks total R & R as the yanks say) I can't wait. Anytime after the weekend of the 4th August would be good for me/us - if partners are included this time. No shocks really I thought, I was pleased I did recognise you though Chris I had thought I must have lost whatever marbles I had. No one has really changed that much and it is good to catch up, just a pity we seemed to have a few smaller groups instead of one big one. I suppose it was the way the seats were available.
I will try to get back on before holiday, to see if we have any progress or more response. Bye for now
