With the council elections coming up why wont you vote for a particular party? I know it could be why you'd vote ie because of policies you like the sound of, but just think of one reason. Mines a daft one. I wouldn't vote Labour for a hundred quid. I always used to until the Blair era. Anyway I wouldn't vote for Labour because they threaten sheffield wednesday with "sanctions" if we dont go along with their daft safety measues (imaginary) neither will many people I speak to who go to the games. Okay it's a pretty petty response from us, but its football, for gods sake. So what's your reason?

I've said it before, but I'll say it again:
You should vote for a local councillor that is going to effectively fight the machine for your best needs.
Regardless of party.
The faceless Council officers, that you do not vote for, thrive on the division and ignorance in local politics and often effect actions against the best wishes of the local electorate.
got my postal voting papers today, received 2 seperate packs, on openng relised one is for the local council election and one for ecclesfield parish council. I didn't know we had a parish election, we have had no information from any of the three candidates. If it comes now it will be too late, as the votes need to be psoted back in time for next week. Why bother voting, the people hoping to get elected don't seem to care about their constituents!!

Councillors are no better than you or I.
.. other than the fact that they or some associates have made an effort to get them elected.
Some will then contribute significantly to make our lives better or worse.
Some will not.
In my personal experience, the good are far and few between, but then .. what a thankless task?
If you really care .. why not stand yourself?
Give me a guaranteed seat .. I will stand and work tirelessly for my people.
It is the time and money that I would have to put in to try and get elected, with a possible rejection, that puts me off.
