View Full Version : Grr @ Vodafone!
So yeah, this month's contract bill from Voda's come this morning, and they've charged me £66.07!! I'm sorry but ***?? It seems they're also still charging me for my old contract which I cancelled way back in February! :loopy:
This is the second time they've done it to me as well, as they overcharged me last month and included the old contract as well, and when my Dad rang them up on my behalf, he was assured that the old contract would be cancelled ASAP.
Obviously they lied! :loopy:
Is there anything legal I can do about this? As their stupidity is astounding and their call centre staff are clearly a bunch of halfwits! :loopy:
:help: I can't afford to pay £66 for 2 contracts!
SupraSteve 27-04-2007, 12:20 If you've got 2 direct debits (one for each bill) just cancel the one that is in error; that way, they can't take your money.
Keep bugging them to sort it out.
Was their a minimum contract period on your old contract phone??
Was their a minimum contract period on your old contract phone??
Yeah 18 months, which has now expired.
Keep bugging them. Do you pay two different Direct Debits?? If so cancel one because they did that to me once, I cancelled a contract but they still debited the money for some unknown reason and I had forgot to cancel the debit.
Ring them again, advise them that you wish to make a formal complaint to them (as per the OFCOM rules) and want an immediate refund of the additional money (if taken), don't let them talk you into anything less. They'll soon roll over :)
For additional verification, say you want a callback from "Customer Relations" to resolve the problem and if they don't ring within 2 days, you'll have to cancel the direct debit until they can provide a correct and updated bill.
Also, make sure you ask them to produce you another bill to clarify the situation.
edit: No need to go legal just yet, call centre staff do make mistakes (I'm one!) but follow the above with them and I'm 99% certain it will be resolved quickly.
Vodafone customer services were excellent when I phoned them.
One last note, all call centre staff are trained to control the call - which means tunneling you into their 'script' (might not be an actual script, but a conversation they're comfortable with). Don't end the call unless your happy with the outcome, and don't swear, shout or insult the staff at the other end, because they won't want to help you :)
deelightful3 27-04-2007, 16:53 ive been with vodafone for about 3 yrs now and im on 250 txts and 100 mins a month, now this mite not seem a lot to some people but to me it is i have never used all my mins, and always have loads to carry over, but this month they say i have gone way over and on top of my contract i now owe another 15.00 to date, never in a million yrs have i used that much time, they say they will send me a bill because i have never received one, because i once tried to do on-line billing but messed it up,but like i say i have never had cause for concern until now
My mam is having the same problem with vodafone at the moment, bills that are way over what they should be. She has been ringing them up trying to get it sorted but still no joy. One of the times she rang she was put on hold for nearly a full hour :|
deelightful3 28-04-2007, 08:23 rang them again last night and now the extra i owe is £20 odd pound which they inform me will be coming out of my bank on may 2nd,apparently ive rung all these numbers that are not allowed within my contracted mins,i know i havnt and the phone never leaves me so nobody else has either, where do i stand now because if i cancel my contract apparently i will owe them £340.00,i just cant win by the looks of things, they are supposed to be sending me an itemised bill but what use will that be.
I had a problem when I tried to cancel my contract.
They ignored my letters for over three months, and when they did respond they admitted they received my first letter, but still wouldn't back date the cancellation of my contract.
So I had to pay the three months it took them to cancel.
I did complain and I told them it was unfair and a good money making thing from their point of view, but they ignored those letters too!
