Also, there used to be a Moor-The-Merrier week, an en masse piece of advertising for all the retailers on the Moor (when it actually had shops on it). The jingle went "The Moor-The-Merrier, the Moor, the Moor-The Merrier". There was a thread on here some time ago which included links to some brilliant old ads of the 1970s and 80s. Oh, and don't forget Barry Noble's Roxy, whose catchphrase was "Is that alright for yers?" jake 27-04-2007, 19:04 "Radio Ha-llaaam Wea-ther.. brought to you this hour in association with.." I can still remember the jingle but i cannot remember who it was brought to you in association with.. so it probably wasnt a very wise ad investment.. AKADOK 27-04-2007, 19:34 Anybody remember these: Morris Bywater the manufacturing jeweller Only gold can make your dreams unfold (Bramall's Gold Room) Heatshield Windows Johhny Moran's your morning DJ on Hallam Radio (sung by Harry Chapin no less) And that long one that started 'Whether you live in Sheffield or on the Yorkshire Moors', a whole song about Radio Hallam 'the top of your dial'. I think they played it when there wasn't enough time for a paoper recors before the news. Vasquez Rich 28-04-2007, 21:29 "Who's that man with the cardboard shoes? Bless my soul it's Keith Skues" and.. "Plumrose plopped ham with chalk" although that was on the telly. AKADOK 28-04-2007, 21:36 CCC we sell all makes of caravans, Ridge tents and trailer tents, accesories.. PA Jewellery, the old bank, Commonside Walkley. That one worked, I remember every line. Then again, I don't get out much. Plain Talker 28-04-2007, 23:00 what about Ray Stuart's introduction jingle, which started off with the music from the crazy world of Arthur Brown "I am the god of Hellfire and I bring you ..Ray Stuart!" AKADOK 28-04-2007, 23:10 Just remembered another really cheesy one. Went something like: 'People walking round town with their radios on, listening to the sound Of Radio Hallam on194, keeps it going round Hallamland' Did I dream that one, or does anyone else remember it? I only ever hear Radio Hallam in taxis these days, and sadly it sounds just like Galaxy and all the other identikit stations out there. Maybe I'm just getting old though. Andy the dj 12-11-2007, 01:54 Can anyone help me. I am after trying to get hold off (cassettes i presume) any local radio ad station jingles form the 1970's -1980's. Ta. not got any old adds but there is a whole host of threads about radio hallam with links to some g8 jingles. go to WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO RADIO HALLAM. |
