Bah humbug indeed. All it does is serve to remind you how much money you haven't got and worry about how you're going to get more before the big day. :(

So glad I don't have kids yet.

This year I have evaluated what Christmas really means. I am by no means religious but feel that Christmas is a time for families and sharing. It is my intention to have as a traditional a Christmas as I can muster. For the first time in about 10 years I am making a Christmas cake. I have started collecting the ingredients over the weeks and am really looking forward to baking it with my son (14)

Hopefully this year will be more about visiting my family and relaxing. There's too much emphasis on drinking, spending and generally getting stressed. This won't be a part of my Christmas celebrations.

Let's all put two fingers up to commercialism and get back to basics:clap:

I think all this must be passing my 8 yr old by! This time last year he had a Christmas list containing most of the Toys R Us and Argos catalogues with page numbers "just to help Santa out - he's busy you know mum".

This year, there is no list in sight and when asked he just say's he'll do it later - there's ages yet!

I only really start getting into the Christmas spirit once I've been to see the nativity play at school! Christmas isn't about cards and presents - its about the shepherd and the inn keeper fighting on the stage and the angel gabriel picking his nose all set to a rousing chorus of Silent Night.
