Hello everyone,
Am having a clear out and have an old PC, reasonable printer and other techy bits.
Should I take them to teh dump or is there a greener alternative?

Thankyou.

Freecycle is an online community that recycles things - there is a sheffield group online if you google for it.

The aim is to prevent things going to landfill that actually have some life left in them - the theory being that one man's junk is another man's treasure.

People come and collect the things from your house too, which is great, because it also saves you a trip to the dump. :)

If you get stuck in looking for the link, give me a shout.

Sounds like PC gone mad to me? Am I right?

If you do end up taking it to the dump it's not as worse as it seems. It now can't go to landfill so thus the local authority will have to dispose of it in a environmentally way.

As I've just used freecycle to get rid of a printer which my colleague bust for me, and it was collected within about 2 -4 hours of my posting, I think it's simply the best. Strongly recommend it>

there's also some place in town which takes old pcs for their centre so that people without a pc can use one. think they do some kind of lets system.
