Before logging on to the Internet, I get a mid screen 'Sony Ericsson PC Suite' warning box saying 'Unable to create device manager instance'. I have a Sony Ericsson 'phone but dont try and connect it to the computer in any way. A Sony Ericsson logo has appeared on the opening screen. I would appreciate knowing if its something we users have done to initiate this. Or is it someone 'out there'?'

check in add and remove programs and remove any sony phone stuff. might help.

It does suggest that someone at some stage has installed the SE software.

Does your phone allow it's use as a modem to allow Internet access via GPRS or whatever? It may have set itself up as the default route, but drops out when it does not detect the phone.

Have you tried uninstalling it?

Thanks guys. Haven't mamaged to shift it yet but I did uninstall a Drivecleaner pest which has been haunting me for a couple of months. Flushed with success I shall keep on the lookout for any Sony/Ericsson
references.

Sony Ericsson software also appeared on my laptop from no where, I also have a Sony Ericsson phone, however have never linked it to my laptop via any means.. I use a PCMCIA GPRS Card for my internet on my laptop when im out and about, so i dont need my phone.. It was in add/remove programs, I removed it and its gone but Very strange..

Logged on today and was prompted 'Do you want to un-install Sony-Ericsson?'. Said yes and its gone, probably until the next time. Hey ho.
