View Full Version : Where do you go for your hair cut ladyovmanor 09-11-2004, 20:50 where do u have your hair done ????? I go to brownes on divsion street , my partner and son go to manor park .... A.B.Yaffle 09-11-2004, 20:54 I'm a cheapskate... I go to the barber shop on Cumberland Street off the Moor and get it cut for £2.50....but my fiancee thinks I should refuse to pay full price now my hair is beginning to fall out naturally:mad: angelgirluk 09-11-2004, 21:00 Dont go there... the fat blonde one is evil - think they call her Cheryl. Cut a great big chunk out of the back of my hair and I didn't even realise until I got home. Wouldn't go there again. I'd rather pay a proper salon so I can at least sue if they cock it up! Go to REGIS they are miles better. You can find them everywhere. Debenhams, TJ Hughes, Crystal Peaks, Meadowhall....!! D2J 09-11-2004, 21:00 Been their before Patchy, convinient as work is just round the corner  A.B.Yaffle 09-11-2004, 21:18 Well they have always been good for us... took our son and daughter last time and they did a good job. ladyovmanor 10-11-2004, 07:05 Originally posted by angelgirluk Dont go there... the fat blonde one is evil - think they call her Cheryl. Bedhead 10-11-2004, 08:03 i goto Halo on division street once a month and spend around £30 a time - i'm a bloke by the way! Ned Ludd 10-11-2004, 13:25 Originally posted by Bedhead i goto Halo on division street once a month and spend around £30 a time - i'm a bloke by the way! Do you get any extras for £30? boyface 10-11-2004, 13:28 man...Ive paid to get my hair cut once in about the last 5-6 years, and that was at creator on West street. To be honest it looked no differant to when I cut it myself. And no, I ain't got a shaved head, I just cut my own hair. Its kinda messy and tufty so you cant tell if I bollock it up...and even so, a week or so later, it's fine again. I must've saved a ruddy fortune. vidster 10-11-2004, 16:41 My better half cuts/shaves my hair for me now. I used to have it cut at Scotts on the Wicker. The best cut i have ever had was from the old guy who used to work at Nigel Coulsens on West st. He looked like Sir Richard Attenboruogh and i think he is now working part time up Dore or Ecclesall?. Very skilled hands!. Pauly 10-11-2004, 16:57 Used to go to Barber and Sun at Meadowhead but I've moved to Nether Edge now and I have it done at the top of Sheldon Road, up from Pops Supermarket. First time was today and it's a decent enough job. My hair is easy though. Grade 2 on the back n sides, grade 4 on the top. Little bonus was that I got student rate of £3.80 even though I'm not a student. Was talking to the bloke and mentioned that I was still training in my job and he gave me the discount. Nice one. :) Jamie 10-11-2004, 16:58 Originally posted by Bedhead i goto Halo on division street once a month and spend around £30 a time - i'm a bloke by the way! Do they cut it like you want it tho bedhead !? That's always been a problem I've found with hair dressers, you tell em what you want, and they never get it right. It's not their hair they're cutting, why should they listen / care !? Currently, my sisters mate cuts mine. She has a mobile hair dressing business and she has a pretty good idea of what I want and she takes note of what I say and I feel I can actually discuss stuff with her. deano 10-11-2004, 19:11 Originally posted by trophyman that shop is closed at the mo until further notice. does anyone know why?????????. i go to scotts on the wicker. £5.60 for a trim tho is quite pricey Think the owner has gone bust, don't quote me on that though!! I sort of know the evil blond one,she turned up for work and was sent home. Rich 10-11-2004, 19:28 I go to a bloke on Stannington Road who charges £5.50 for a fairly decent job. Git keeps putting his prices up periodicallly though, I bet soon he'll go up to £6, I only put up with it cos he's local and cheaper/faster service than going down to Fella's at Hiillsborough corner. Ant 10-11-2004, 19:32 I cut my own, acutally, "shave" rather than "cut" Same here. I pretend it's to give me a sleek, streamlined look, but being an old git, it's because I'm receeding. Someone once told me it's a sign of my virility, but I think they were just trying to stop me from crying. angelgirluk 10-11-2004, 19:38 Ooops Deano! Sorry, hope she isn't a close friend! Poor lass out of a job then... eeek wouldn't have wished that on her but serves her right for being a bully at school and making my life hell. I'm sure she'll get another job though and maybe they will even re-open?!! Haven't been down the Moor since it closed, was open last time I was down a couple of weeks ago. All this reminds me I need a trim, haven't had on since March(!) - to tell ya the truth I am always satisfied when I have been to REGIS but it costs me a fortune for a simple trim and tidy up so I wait as long as poss before going again - it totally skints me! deano 10-11-2004, 19:48 Originally posted by angelgirluk [B]Ooops Deano! Sorry, hope she isn't a close friend! Nah,she isn't a friend at all really, she's a friend of a work colleague, think she already has another job,so beware!:P angelgirluk 11-11-2004, 09:36 "Chop Chop Chop Goes The Butchers Knife" LOL!!! Angel05 11-11-2004, 09:56 I go to Hairband... not been in Sheffield that long so only been the once... Seemed really friendly... some salons you can really sense the bitchy atmosphere... people starring as you walk in hate that feeling... when your going to be pampered you need to feel relaxed... Hairband did just that... Was a very good cut... £34.00 Bargin! :? lol will be going again very soon :) nick2 11-11-2004, 10:18 Originally posted by Ant Same here. The odd thing is that men think that having no hair makes then a non-starter with the ladies, but my own experience is that this is not the case. Many is the time I have been out and some complete stranger has asked if she can "feel my head" (ooh er). Emilychee 11-11-2004, 10:22 I go to Essensuals on Chapel Walk, always make my hair look lovely (stays that way until I try to style it myself!) Jamie 11-11-2004, 10:52 Originally posted by nick2 ... has asked if she can "feel my head" (ooh er). Which one !? :o GazB 11-11-2004, 11:11 Andrew Harris Barbers on Hatfield House Lane in Shiregreen.. Go there everytime and get it cut by the same guy for £5.70 (I give him £7). He should be working at Toni & Guy or something, he's excellent! Always does it funky, fresh and original. I go once a fortnight.. Maintain a bit of consistency in the style 8) Like a carwash, having your haircut is one of those things that won't last long but is worth every penny  Strix 11-11-2004, 23:47 Originally posted by GazB Like a carwash, having your haircut is one of those things that won't last long but is worth every penny  Your haircut is the part of your outfit you have to wear every day! How much would you pay for a decent shirt that you only wear to go out in at the weekend? PS. I've had the same hairdresser for ten years. I've lived in Sheffield for 3. I don't get my haircut very often any more!! |
