Has anyone been to Barnsley and is it true that on a Friday night its dead cheap?

I've been to Barsley althogh not at night.

There are a lot of cheap shops. If you mean pubs/clubs then sorry I don't know.

Yep Friday is pretty cheap, although the best and busiest night is Wednesday... However if you don't mind spending a bit more on drink and club entries then Saturday is good and also really busy too. Avoid Thursdays at all cost though it's full of scallies! (I'm from Barnsley so I know what I'm talking about!) haha x

Whats best club to go to, heaven and hell dont look that clever! Whats Lacorum like?

Yeah I meant chavish. H&H is not bad if you're drunk and has a good alternative night on wednesday. Livingstones is also good on a saturday and it has a 3-1 offer on most drinks on a weds... Lucorum is quite pricey for what it is... so I wouldn't generally recommend. Assembly is quite good and fairly new... You can wear pretty much anything on a wednesday e.g. caps and stuff but it's more strict on fridays and saturdays. Also, much to contrary belief there isn't much fighting and violence! x

hoylands is supposed to be a good night, i went to a lgb night at chicago rock last tues, they had the best drag act on, it was an eye opener - £1.50 stella so im told thats cheap (dont drink dirty lager)

Yeah Hoyland is good too. See Barnsley is so overlooked lol

I've been aroud the pubs and I totally enjoyed it. It seemed to be buzzing.

Im moving in a couple of weeks to the barnsley area so need to know good restaurants, good alternative nights/pubs etc!

You ask like its a different country. Its just a town and probaly has cheap and expensive places just like Sheffield does.

Don't forget your passport and your currency.

Where abouts to? I don't speak funny... There are different levels of broadness in the accent though... I cringe when I hear some people round here speak! x

I went to Barnsley for a night out about 6 mnths ago. It was a good laugh. Definately worth a try.
