Does anyone know of any good Soul nights in Sheffield? I like modern soul (70's & 80's)... any help appreciated!

Hopefully the Ponds Forge event is still going on the2nd Friday.
as a promoter I have spent nearly 10 months looking for a venue in Sheffield to put a modernsoul event on (kinda like TSOP only smaller), but there aint the right venues available.
If you fancy some old school disco and funk check out Funkology/Hustlin on every Friday at Takapuna.

I saw in Exposed magazine that Hush have a 60's/70's/80's funk and soul night tomorrow so I think I will go down there and see what it's like.

dimitrysoul - if you do manage to find a venue please let us know... i can't believe that I have only recently been introduced to modern soul and it's sooooo good - to be able to go out and enjoy it would be great! Let's start a new revolution!!!

also, any recommendations for good soul CDs/books etc would be appreciated. Have been given some websites which I have managed to download from and have got some really good stuff. I also got a Modern Soul Connoisseurs CD recently which is great - some fabulous tracks on it.
