3 years ago I went to Lithuania at this time of year. I now have 10 days holiday to take before christmas, and want somewhere a bit different (and preferably not too explensive) to go.

Anything that involves travelling several thousand miles is out due to either the time taken to travel overland or the cost of an air fare.

depending what yr looking for I've heard great things about Bratislava.

It's kinda attracting a large bohemian kind of artistic crowd similar to the people who've congragated in Berlin after the fall of the wall and are still doing so.

The underground music scene is meant to be amazing too.

And it's pretty and cheap and lots going on, so I've heard.

I went to Bratislava about 4 years ago in the summer, would probably be interesting in the winter.

Its scary, it seems like just a few weeks ago sat in the town square there, about 10pm at night, really warm.

I'm thinking probably going to go to central Europe somewhere if I manage to get away.

Package holidays are always the cheapest in December, just before xmas is the cheapest week of the year, depends what you want.
