I have just bought a Fuji F40fd and it is really the first digital camera that I have had that amazes me with its quality.
I am not a budding photographer but I would like to start learning more about photography and taking pics of my dogs this weekend has been a start lol!

Anyway, I have been taking my mem card to photoshops and printing them that way but I have been thinking about getting a printer for home.

I dont know where to start. Looking at some on the internet and they only print to 6x4. Is that normal? The new Canon Selphy ES1 looks good but again only small sizes.

Will I not get the same quality from a home printer that I would from a photo shop?

Sorry If these questions are daft but I dont know where to start?

Home printing is expensive, very expensive, if you want ink jet printing which the colours do not fade you are looking at expensive paper, printer and inks. The Canon Selphy printers and similar are good but again expensive to run, and you are limited as to the size you can print, this type of printer doesn't suffer from fade problems like traditional ink jet printer images.

My suggestion would be to look at an on-line printing service, they offer various print options and you do not need to leave the comfort of your home to get your prints.

Someone recommended putting my pics onto photobox (rather than a cd) so that if my pc crashes then I wont loose my pictures. I am doing that but the upload speed is really slow. I took 102 pics on my camera today and it has been uploading for ages!
