Does anyone know what the area near Blair Athol Road is like?

I used to live on the street parallel to that. Its a nice quiet area, quite near the park, away from the main road. A mixture of students, locals and young graduates. No trouble to speak of. I wouldn't mind living there again but can't afford to buy round there, was renting before, and now a home owner (aarghh! responsiblity)

But as this is the going out in Sheffield section, its near Ecclesall Road, so if you like the nightlife round there is a good place. Not been down there in years myself though!

It is off Ecclesall Road opposite the area between Somerfield supermarket and Banner Cross. In my opinion it is a nice area.

It's here... http://streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=432760&y=385124&z=1&sv=blair+athol+road&st=6&tl=Blair+Athol+Road,+Sheffield,+S_11&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf

The top right square is Hunters Bar. If you are going from town, get to Hunters Bar, and keep going up

I would agree entirely with Yodameister - I used to live on Ranby Rd and I still live close by now. Quite a lot of rented houses but not many students nowadays. It's quiet but very close to Eccy Rd, Endcliffe Park and bus routes.

One of the guys in our office lives on Blair Athol Road and likes it very much. He has two young kids and seems to think it's a safe and friendly area with plenty of access to open space. The one problem seems to be car parking but I think that applies to most of Sheffield nowadays.

It's a really nice area. Shops and pub couple of hundred yards......I could go on.
Would add to eviljock, one of the worst roads in sheffield in terms of parking. Know of one or two in walkley that are worse, but not much.
I only live a few hundred yards away, up the hill.
