Theres been a huge power cut on West Street from past Boots towards town. Also around Mappin Street. No power to buildings and traffic lights. Was quite funny getting my sandwich made in the dark... Not sure when it happened though.

Yes, Varsity and the Cavendish was affected. I was on West Street just as it happened; Boots, the Post Office, the Cavendish, and all the sandwich shops along there were all off.

The offices up Regent Street were off too - Minalloy House, Regent Court etc. It came on about half past one.

The chance would have been a fine thing!:( I work at the Church Army Training College next to West One and as IT contact (our IT department is in Sidcup) I had to power down the servers.

After the power came back up I spent the next 3 hours up the top of a step ladder trying to reset the network link switches - some "idiot" put the power sockets and the switchbox in the most stupid place ever imaginable.

I live just off west street and I havent had a cut?

Given that the op posted in 2004 i should imagine the power is back on by now.
