I quite like that too. And I like Pure Shores. And that newer one they had.
Yodameister 19-04-2007, 05:56 A Certain Romance - Arctic Monkeys.
There's another couple of their songs I can just about stand but thats the only one I'd say I like.
Sarah1982 19-04-2007, 06:56 i love most Britney songs....theres no shame in it!! well maybe a little!!
For some reason, I love World of our Own by Westlife. I really don't like boybands (got nothing against them, just not my sort of thing) but that song always makes me feel really happy.
yummyyumyum 19-04-2007, 09:18 i like a lot of different types of music so the music i like regularly hits the charts.
although im not really a fan of pop music i do love madonna and kylies ok too
weenireeni 19-04-2007, 09:54 there's not much pop music im ashamed about liking - makes me feel happy!
but im a bit ashamed to admit i love 'its the way you make me feel' by Steps
its really nice, and slow and good for singing along to!
Don't Stop Movin - S Club 7. Great song, shame about the group.
Oh no, I'll be humming it all day now
BasilRathbon 19-04-2007, 10:58 Has anyopne heard of a song called "I Would Walk 500 Miles" by some Scottish band whose name escapes me?

Obviously not as good as "Letter From America" tho ;)

The Proclaimers.
That song has recently been bastardised for Comic Relief by 2 other blokes whose names escape me, there was a thread about in entertainment chat last week iirc.
On topic, I normally hate Westlife with a passion but their version of Barry Manilow's "Mandy" wasn't too bad IMO, and neither was their version of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the heart"

There's not a lot gets past you, is there?
How do you keep so up to date with the news - are you a Daily Mail reader?
This thread has just reminded me of a song by a band which I don't normally like. Mardy Bum _ Arctic Monkeys. I can't for the life of me think why I thought of it.
That song by Elvis ... something about Dixie
Most Beatles songs I like, but not the Beatles themselves.
happyhippy 19-04-2007, 16:39 Pure Shores and Overload I have to agree with. I'd also add the last Take That single, 'Shine', and I quite like 'Patience' ......... oh dear
dieselbabe 19-04-2007, 19:53 I hated Take that back in the days when they was so popular, i got fed up of hearing them with my sister been a fan and was not pleased when they re-formed. But i got to say i got to like their last song shine, I dont know why but i do like it, maybe it becase i been T-toal for the past 3ys and i've not got the alcohol to block the sound anymore.
NEKRO138 20-04-2007, 10:35 I'd have to go with Cannibal Corpse's hit - Hammer Smashed Face
ChrisTodd 20-04-2007, 11:24 Paitience by Take That
BlankFrack 20-04-2007, 12:17 Black Holes and Revelations by Muse

cressida 20-04-2007, 12:56 Can't stand Mick Hucknall. but he has got a nice voice and I heard a song of his which was great but can't remember the title, anyone know which it could be?

I think I know the one you mean. Is it the one that starts off with a verse, followed by a chorus that's repeated at various other parts of the song?

'Holding Back the Years'? Could also be 'Stars'.
cressida 20-04-2007, 13:30 'Holding Back the Years'? Could also be 'Stars'.

are you for real?:)
Ray Bentos 20-04-2007, 19:43 First one that comes to mind is "Whole Again" by Atomic Kitten. Oh........& "Country House" by Blur.
I suppose there's plenty more but that'll do for now.
Grim Reaper 20-04-2007, 19:47 Everybody Get Up by Five
*Hangs head in shame and embarrassment*
milikshake by kellis also millionaire
a few sophie ellis bextor tracks
there's more i'm ashamed to say
'Dance With Me' by Justin Timberlake. In fact the whole album is class. And I'm a complete Metal head!

Lol!!!! That's a funny one!
Most Beautiful Girl - Prince
Love the song, can't stand the singer.
'The Scientist' - Coldplay. There are a couple of excellent covers out there.
And I still like 'Never Ever' :D .
I like Patience as well. But I have never had any shame about liking pop music, the Beatles, Motown, Buddy Holly and the likes of the Ronettes and the Crystals were pure pop at the time (and ridiculed by the folkies, trad dad types etc) but now have "cred".
But I suppose the oddest one for me is "The Way You Make Me Feel", which I think is just fantastic. It is not so much odd because it is song by Ronan Keating (who is not my fave rave but whom I have nothing against) but becuase it was written by Bryan Adams, who I otherwise find pretty universally abysmal (well the duet with Mel C was alright).
A couple of Beyonce songs, Crazy In Love and Bootylicious.
I'm realy not a fan of hers but I like those two.
Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake - I just can't see the appeal, but I do like that song.
Also Blue (definitely NOT a fan!), but liked about 20 seconds of the court room song, hang on it will come to me..... All Rise (had to check website), something about waving your hands in the air, I liked that bit. Simon's quite good since they split too.
Everybody Get Up by 5ive actually sounds like the Beastie Boys if you listen to it without "baggage" (just as "Crazy Horses" by the Osmonds actually sounds like Led Zeppellin or something if you listen to it with an open mind).
cressida 21-01-2008, 17:06 Torn by Natalie Imbruglia,
Especially for you, Kylie (actually liked her in Neigbours though) must be the huge lips
one or two by Mick Hucknall - should only be on the radio
same with Jagger
Anything from 'Justified' by Justin Timberlake.
fatalstarlite 21-01-2008, 18:17 anything by james blunt...except for 1973,its quite a good one
melthebell 21-01-2008, 18:17 glen & chris (hoddle and waddle) - diamond lights
samesame monkey 22-01-2008, 08:51 'Shiver' by Coldplay, I generally find their music to be dreary tosh but this is a great song.
purdyamos 22-01-2008, 22:54 Spice Up Your Life
