--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I heard a song recently on BBC radio 6, a funk number sung in a Scouse accent that began with a spoken-word pastiche of the Lord's Prayer. I didn't catch who it was by but I think the presenter said it was released in 1984. It was quite political and satirical in content and seemed to be addressing social problems experienced in '80s Britain under Conservative rule.

I'm not making it up! Any ideas who it might be?

As I'm at a loose end, I've had a wander around the 6 live site and I suspect the artist is none other than the show's presenter - former Red Dwarf actor Craig Charles. Could it be the track "Hands Together Eyes Closed"? (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/johnpeel/sessions/1980s/1984/Feb07craigcharles/)

If it is, you are truly worthy of using the real name of the greatest Sherlock Holmes to grace our screens.

Hands Together, Eyes Closed huh? Is that the position Craig adopts when thinking about the future of his acting career. Sorry, I couldn't resist making that, ahem, crack.

I can't find the lyrics to it but watch this space. Thanks Basil.
