View Full Version : Look who's come to stay... (Jade's thread)
Jade (http://www.rainrescue.co.uk/resources/_wsb_250x333_Jade_1rotherham.jpg) is visiting Brude's house :)
She seems to have decided that, given how small he is, he must be a pup, so he's subjected to regular grooming sessions, having a big tongue rammed down his ears, and his chops thoroughly cleaned, before she finishes off with a full facial, whilst he puts his best 'tolerant' face on :hihi:
She's an absolute darling, is well trained, and likes to go to bed at about 9.30 (in the utility room) even though we're still clattering about
I can't believe how little trouble she is - after our previous residents ;)
If anybody is interested in meeting her, with the prospect of giving her a new home, PM me or contact Rainrescue via PM or through her website www.rainrescue.co.uk
more about Jade (http://www.rainrescue.co.uk/30.html)
Awww she is gorgeous. Glad to hear she is doing well. Have your hands recovered?
not yet :(
my fingers are swollen too so they don't bend properly
It wasn't Jade who did it though ;)
KATIEB_23 17-04-2007, 12:09 Aww that sounds so lovely
She's a beautiful girl, hope she finds a good home :)
She is stunning. If we hadn't already adopted your previous foster baby there'd have been a home for her here!
Really hope she finds somewhere soon. Are the two possibilities you mentioned not an option?
She looks lovely, my favorite dog from childhood was tessa our rotty, lovely animals!
Hope she finds a goo home soon!
My neighbours need to get moved into one house permanently before having a dog really - Jade isn't suitable to have in and out of the car constantly as her back legs aren't good
still waiting for a call back from the other people
She does look, and sound like such a lovely dog
I'm really surprised she hasn't found a home yet. Let's just see if your foster care doesn't find her a home  good on you Strix for taking her in for a while.
I want her so so bad!! :( lifes not fair!
I only brought her here to take some more flattering pics, but she's so little trouble she hasn't gone back :D

:hihi: has she found a permanant place of residence then?
Nooooooo
that would mean we'd have to give up foster training ;)

Daisy129 18-04-2007, 14:56 Owwwww what a shame, I would like a rottie and Jade sounds like a dream. I wanted to wait until we had moved house first though for the extra space.
She is adorable, I hope she finds her forever home soon!
Wouldn't you be tempted Strix??
xx
No daisy - I don't keep foster dogs
The previous dogs I've had have been for re-training before being rehomed, and both of those were facing destruction if they didn't shape up, so if I kept a dog that facility would be lost - It's one thing managing my own dog and a temporary resident, but I just don't have the space or time to manage the faff of more in one go
She's had an enquiry today though, so fingers crossed, somebody may fall in love with her on saturday
Can I just use this opportunity to big up Strix and Brude and the work they do fostering and training un-rehomeable (???) dogs?! I am now the very happy owner of a very happy little girl taken in by Strix who turned her around sufficiently for us to fall in love with her and give her a chance. In her time with Strix she learnt how to sit, walk on her lead, chew bones only on blanket (!), not climb on furniture etc and we have never had an accident in the house either! Strix also crate trained her in that time too!
Long may you foster and I hope that Jade finds a family who love her as much as Hunny's do! :D
carpetviper 18-04-2007, 16:26 Jade is lovely and if we were not going away twice this year I would have had her no problem.
Rainrescue 18-04-2007, 23:55 Jade has a potential new mommy and daddy - baby sister and older brother driving lots of miles to come up and see her.
We have taken to sending posters out of our dogsto vets around the country.
Had at least 10 phone calls for Jade over the last few days. This family do sound ideal for this one very special adoreable girl though.
Well done Strix - trouble is - i dont think all that I may give you will be this good though - so make the most of a really nice foster
Well Jade went to her new family today :)
She demanded that their dog play with her (in that exeptionally loud Grott voice she has :hihi: ) but he didn't look alarmed as Brude had done at first, in fact he pretty much ignored her silly behaviour :hihi:
She's fantastic with the kids, and treated the young girl to a face washing as they both sat in the boot :D
Brude has been gearing up for her going since about day five (which is the length of time we had Hunny for), so he tried to ask if we could take another dog home and picked himself one out :suspect: I've said 'no' for now, but if that dog is there for long enough, I just know I could have my arm twisted ;)
We've now got 2-3 days of badly-behaved-beagling to endure whilst he gets over the unsettled thing again :(
Rainrescue 22-04-2007, 21:17 I spoke to Jade's new mummy last night. They had taken her for a little walk around the park which is at the side of their house - and she mate some friends. Once home, she laid on her bed and had a good snooze.
New mummy said she felt Jade had been in their house forever, she was so comfortable and happy and it felt like home.
Earlier on she had curled up at the side of chair that the children were both in as though she finally knew she had found a proper family with kids in - to love her forever.
Jade is a FANTASTIC example of what rotties tempraments usually are - friendly and loving.
Happy home Jade - may all your friends in Sheffield will remember you with a smile - thanks for all your help Strix - I know she had her feet under your table good and proper.
(pics about to go up on our site tomorrow)
Mr Strix says he misses her RR :(
Brude's looking a bit lost - but doesn't look like he hates me this time (which is progress)
I'm just full of pleasure that she's found a family to love to bits like she deserves..... Am I odd? :(
PS - If my neighbours had made the right noises I'm sure she could have stayed until they move into the new house :hihi:
