Does anyone feed their dog Nature Diet Dog Food?

What do you think of it?

It is a natural holistic food with no additives/chemicles etc.

It was recommended to me by a friend who swears by it and since we have been feeding Jasper on it he has really thrived, but when I told my vet this was what we fed him, he was really funny and said the best food we could give him was one of the well known brands - Pedigree, Hills, Iams, Bakers Complete etc :loopy:

Pedigree is well known for upsetting doggies stomachs. All the breeders I know use either Burns or Nature diet or both

Hi there we have been using Nature Diet and Natures Menu (similar concept but different manufacturers and sold in foil packets instead of in trays) for at least the last 4 years- our dobermutt used to suffer from allergies and occasionally has a dicky tummy and she finds these to be the most palateable - we mix them with her dry food (Burns) as she wont eat dried food alone and we didnt just want to give her wet food. It is really good quality meat - we also buy Natures Menu for the cats- that's 70% meat content. Wouldnt change to anything else really. Ailsa has a gorgeous black glossy coat and is in peak condition.

We get the nature diet and or natures menu from Pets at Home and the Burns we buy online (free P&P and very quick delivery).

As for Iams and the like...Iams sent our dobe hyper and that was trhe only time she was ever distructive - she wont eat Hills (which is overpriced anyway) and we dont give her pedigree or similar wet foods as they are sloppy and seem to be high in sugar.

I would never feed any pet Iams, used to give it to our kittens, then I read about all the horror stories.

We feed Jasper Nature Diet with a handful of Wafcol and his coat is so glossy and silky.

He absolutely loves it and gets really excited when it is mealtimes.

When we went to the Supreme Cat Show in Nov we stocked up on all the quality cat foods and were suprised to learn Wafcol do a dried cat food- there was a good deal on it so we got a couple of sacks (plus various others royal canin, burns, james wellbeloved, pro purina etc) Just got round to openiong the wafcol this wek and the cats are lapping it up.
We have to be more careful with the mutt- she has reactions to a lot of branded dog foods and cr*ps for england if we switch her to anything other than the Burns.

We use the nature diet trays with Jollyes own brand gluten and preservative free iscuits. Their coats are now great and no itching or flaky skin. Ruby is much calmer also i think partly due to a food change.
They are a little porky at the moment so we have cut out the meat for a few weeks and are just using biscuits. Albert seems to have got some zest for life from somewhere i have never seen my big lad whizzing around so much x

We used Nature diet with our last dog as many of the cheaper brands seemed to make him a bit hyperactive. I thought it was good stuff. I had tried James Wellbeloved and Burns, but our dog wouldnt eat them consistently. He wolfed down the nature.
