You know that massively tall chimney at the right hand side of the old Hillsborough Baths ?Is that going to demolished when they turn the baths into Wetherspoons.I think the chimney used to be something to do with the boiler belonging to the baths. The men seem to be working round it, but not touching it.I wonder if it is a listed chimney.

I saw it stripped bare the other day and thought "That'd be a job for Dibner".

I think if it is then they'll have to do it layer by layer rather than knocking a hole in the base, wedging it full of timber, lighting it and running like hell :hihi:

I thought they'd decided that due to the risk involved they were going to have it Artistically Painted or something?

The should keep it, it's quite impressive. Maybe it could be used as a flue to extract the pollution from the smokers' area.

Or maybe have a cosy smokeless open fire at the bottom of it.
