Hi all,

Just moved to Woodseats from Chesterfield and wondered if anyone can recommend any good takeaways? I mainly like Chinese and Indian food. I've already noticed Dominos and KFC :)

I saw the Canton Wok (?) place on a corner with Chesterfield Rd but after seeing the food hygiene rating it got I wasn't sure about going.

Pizza Panda, but get in there before chucking out time at the Woodseats Hotel across the road. You don't want to be anywhere near their clientèle.

Poseidon Chippy is great, Phoenix chippy is cheap & cheerful.

Don't touch Chinese or Indian food (not my cup of tea), so can't help you there.

Canton Wok is great - same owners as the Zing Vaa and fab food. Didn't know about the hygiene report, but I've never seen a rat running through the kitchen :wink:

The Dil Shad is a really good Indian, and does take-away too. Woodseats Tandoori used to be our fave takeaway of all time, but since it moved down the road to Heeley seems to have gone a bit, er, downhill :hihi:

I personally like Milans...it's just down the road in Meersbrook/Heeley. They deliver to Woodseats tho.

China Delight - gorgeous taste but you don't get a lot for the price. Pick up only.

Shimuls - surely one of the most under-rated Balti houses in Sheffield. The Chef Specials &/or Chicken Madras are quality! Plus, it's got pictures of David Hirst eating there as you walk in, resplendent with celebratory raised Naan bread and Massala sauce on his chin (what a legend). Delivery

Pizza Delight - for that quick and dirty fix, try one of their £3.50 Medium pizzas or the doner kebab. Delivery.

Hasinas however is dirty and has given me the sh*ts the past two times of eating there. Be warned!

There is also Oyes which does both takeaway and eat in foods, Fresh bread made on the premises and nice cakes

I think Shaans indian takeaway is nice on chesterfield road, woodseats. I haven't been for a good few months but it use to be
Also Pizza Panda is nice as someone said before!

Woodseats Kebab, excellent pizzas and even excellenter kebabs ... and nice friendly service too ...

There's Hakim on London Rd. Not sure if it delivers that far, but it quite good for a curry.

Woodseats kebab does the best pizza's. The one me and my partner reccomend is the Della Garlic! It's fantabulous.
And for chinese the Canton Wok is brilliant, it's nicely priced and the food is lovely and for some reason he always gives you a discount when you buy your food, great!

The Canton Wok is the one in Woodseats on the corner opposite the frozen food store. I used to go there regularly when I lived in Woodseats and always found the food really good.

It's not Woodseats but Takdir Indian Takeaway (Ecclesall Rd South) is fab. They deliver this far out for free. Had one last night. £20 for 2 Starters, 2 mains, 2 special rice, Papadoms, pickle tray & Garlic Naan... Mmmmm:D It's not Cheap rubbish either. Great quality. (Yes we are greedy ;) )

The house special fried rice at Canton Wok is crap,a small portion & no sauce,small prawns, hardly any chicken & overpriced in my opinion. The best house special dishes & all chinese food is Hing Lung down on Abbeydale road(ok not woodseats but far better value for dosh)

I don't think you like Hasina's as you probably couldn't finish a full keebab;).THEY'RE HUGE

Joint do good sandwiches and deliver. We do pork chicken and hot roast beef. And all kinds of melts which are served on large ciabatta's toasted with melted cheese.

I'll second JOINT, they do the best sandwiches in Sheffield.

Hanifah Balti House on Abbeydale Road is an excellent one too.
