did anyone go to whiteleywoods school in 1960s

Hi Dave 50,
I was at Whitely Wood when Miss Harbron was the head mistress and we used to have the assembly in the hall each morning, There was 'Pop' Turner , Mrs Rodgers, can't recall any other teachers names, I went up about 1 yr ago,it is now a private dwelling, but the huts were still there and the old dining room also the gardens at the top of the playground although rather delapidated not like ther were when I was there, we used to grow vegetables which were used in the kitchens for dinners,we all had to have a hot dinner and in the winter when the bus couldn't get up Bents lane to the school we all had to walk through the deep snow , we thought it was GREAT ! and when we got there we had a hot breakfast, bacon & tomatoes or porridge, do you remember having the rest period outside in the summer? how anybody could sleep in the afternoon for an hour, I could never understand.
