Though that would be a good start / aid. Teachers are usually essential at first, unless you have excellent natural rhythm and musicianship skills. I might be looking for a teacher in Manchester, anyone know of any? Classical guitar, piano, drum and contemporary guitar would all be useful. Don't think I can afford them all though unfortunately and there's no decent manchester forum to organise skill swapping :( Damnit The Only M 17-09-2006, 13:44 There's slightly more to playing guitar than knowing chord shapes unfortunately. Anyone think that a group of 4 or so would bring the price down ? And is anyone interested in maybe getting a weekly lesson/tuitor arranged? I'm in Crookes. watson06 11-06-2009, 04:09 Hi, If you really want to be good at playing the guitar, you have to be determined enough. Like all other instruments, the guitar needs time and patience to master. For your first few weeks or months of getting to know the basics, you can borrow a guitar. There are professional music lessons you can take. Or you can buy a beginner’s guide to guitar playing and do some self-studying. It’s fairly easy to understand the main concepts behind guitar music. With some effort, you’ll soon be confidently strumming away. |
