Have you ever bought something 2nd hand and then found money of valuables hidden in it?
It happened to someone I know who bought a 2nd hand holdall and found 150 Euros in it.Never having seen Euros before they took it to the Bank not knowing if it was toy money!
It was real and they got £96 for a 50 pence bag.
Would you have kept the cash, or any other item of value you may have inadvertantly bought ?

I have never found money like that, but have heard that upholsteres, find money ( and other things ;) ) down the back of settees.

I found 2 purses, one in a Sheffield book shop, other in a shop in Canada, I handed them both in to the counter people, guess I should have found out who they belonged to and returned them myself, but you have to trust other people also.

I believe that if you find something of value, then it should be handed into a Police Station, if the police can't find the rightful owner, then after a period of time it is returned to you.I once found a purse with cash in it, but no identification, a woman approached me and said that the purse was hers, I said to her in that case you can go to Attercliffe police station and identify it as yours, because that is where I am taking it to. Lo and behold the purse came back to me as no one had claimed it, so i donated it to police charity. If however you purchase an item that contains something of value, then I believe that, that item becomes yours by deed of ownership of the item you purchased. It is the sellers responsibility to make sure that there is nothing of value in the property they are selling, and you always buy second hand goods in an as seen condition, and with no warranties or redress.
