I don't know about niche moving to void, but what I have heard several times is that whole area has been marked for regeneration, so empire will go as well. I believe the old social security building which has been derelict for years will be redeveloped.

I can't see BT moving from that building...

Don't think BT building would be affected:huh: , Just hope once they've done with that side of town it'll mean more venues. Sheffield really needs a new half decent club, connect the sheffield night geography up a bit

Nah, the BT buildings wont be affected, reason being there are 3 BT buildings down there and it'd cost the council way too much money to relocate them all.

I hope not, how many clubs have they managed to shutdown as it is without another one on the list of has beens:(

i don't mean that against the management, im sure they're doing their best to get rid of the undesirables, but everytime trouble kicks off at their nights, the clubs get closed down now

I dont know abot over promotion (remember nights at the old Arches used to have big posters all over town) - its just aiming for a different more mainstream crowd.

Sheffield certainly is getting lots of live music venues sorted......not before time, but I hope we dont end up with too many all the same....we need a cross section of sizes and style of venue and not all the same size......but for live music you are spoiled for choice in Sheffield now.......its cool

I drove past void yesterday and the Niche logo has been added to signage above the door. I think that will answer most peoples questions.

The light box which contained the Niche sign has been bought by the club and until our new sign comes through the poster was put there to cover it up. The club is going to be used for dance music events and eventually bands, i nor the club owners want anything to do with that kind of scene. Hope that puts this to rest
