ALL YOUR BASE BELONG TO US
WE THINK YOU TALK CRAP
MESSAGE ENDED
I believe in intelligent life somewhere else in the Universe but I don't for one minute think they have ever been here. Assuming there is life on distant planets the amount of time it would take them to get here would be incredible even if they managed to travel at or faster than the speed of light. I'm sure any species that could ever do such a thing would want to make itself known to us. It seems a bit pointless to travel Light years just to draw circles in farmers fields or kidnap a redneck.
I don't think that Governments are covering anything up because there is nothing to cover up. On the other hand though it is good for a government have you believe that that UFO outside is a UFO and not a secret government Spy plane. As for Alien invasion, if they had the technology to get to us then I'm sure they would have the technology to wipe us out quickly.
melthebell 14-04-2007, 13:33 talking of renecks
apparently a ufo got spotted above a farmers field round here not so long ago
now if i had the technology to travel fastert han the speed of sound / light etc i think id visit somewhere more useful than cow **** corner
Exactly, travel a few hundred light years just to look at a field. Why aren't there any sightings over major cities or some of the wonders of the world. If they did want to take over a planet and I'm assuming they have the technology to acclimatise themselves then why not go to an empty planet. I hear Mars is lovely this time of year.
melthebell 14-04-2007, 13:44 why not go to an empty planet. I hear Mars is lovely this time of year.
yeah cos all the martians are over here, wandering round in burberry caps and drinking cheap cider while sniffing bin fumes
mossy 76 14-04-2007, 13:46 lol ya like i new this would happen
upinwath 14-04-2007, 13:46 I think they are flying objects that no one has been able to identify.
Most are the result of beer or lunacy.
lol ya like i new this would happen
We're answering your question. What are your opinions? Do you think that they have been here? Do you have any cases where you genuinely think the Government is keeping something secret? What do you think it is that happens to so called " Alien abductees (sp)", does something genuinly happen to them or are they just crazy?
I think they are flying objects that no one has been able to identify.
Most are the result of beer or lunacy.
That is it, they are unidentified flying objects.
They are not alien creatures, as far as we know.
All they are is lights in the sky.
People often mistake Venus, Jupiter and Saturn, when they are low in the sky for UFO's
When I was nightshift engineeer, manyatime people would come in after their inspection rounds, saying they had seen strange lights in the sky.
Which, after smelling their breath, turned out to be planets or stars. :hihi:

mossy 76 14-04-2007, 14:36 i dont now i seen thing like u say but i now full well thay not stars cos i now were the constrlations are the things u see n watch at the end of the day anyone seen the dvd safespace?
Beakerzoid 14-04-2007, 16:09 I'm sure any species that could ever do such a thing would want to make itself known to us.
Imagine this....you travel to a distant world and look at the inhabitants you intend to make contact with. From examination of their broadcasts you see that they kill each for no good reason aside from money, a 'God', or land. This has, it seems, gone on continuously for centuries, and seems to be actually accelerating. The most powerful 'landmass' on the planet (and therefore, by assumption, the potential 'ruling body' for the planet) seem to be the ones who cause the most damage - and are the only ones to have actually used the most powerful weapons the planet has to offer.
If they can't stop killing each other, what hope would a different species have?
Now, would you want to pop over and say hello? I certainly wouldn't, and if indeed a race is intelligent enough to traverse the reaches of space to get here, then surely they would be sensible enough to move on by and not hang around!
Do I, personally, belive in UFOs? I belive in the possibilities. Yes, a race would have to be fantastically advanced to design a vessel which can navigate space, but our own solar system is but young compared to the myriad of systems and galaxies out there. In a universe of infinite proportions, the infinitely impossible become possible.

JFKvsNixon 14-04-2007, 16:25 My theory on the subject:
If a civilization is capable of traveling here from a distant star, they have a level of technology that we can only dream of. So this suposidly advanced civilization travel here, and we can assume that they do not want to let us know that they are here as they would land on the white house lawn and proclame that they come in peace if they did.
So the potential aliens have an advanced technology level, and they do not want to be discovered. So what do they do? Fly around at night with as many lights on as possible. Haven't they invented a light switch yet, or is that beyond them?

How could it be lunacy ? The moon is the moon - even little kids can identify the moon :hihi:
Kingmaker2 15-04-2007, 02:02 I believe in intelligent life somewhere else in the Universe but I don't for one minute think they have ever been here. Assuming there is life on distant planets the amount of time it would take them to get here would be incredible even if they managed to travel at or faster than the speed of light.
Why aren't there any sightings over major cities
Many people question the possibility that extra terrestrials have visited Earth due to the amount of time it would take, whilst this is a valid argument as far as we understand science, we have to remember that even Newton and Einstein didn't know all the laws of the entire Universe, so who is to say that Newton's and Einstein's laws of physics no longer apply when you get past our solar system? In other words man may think that reaching a certain point in space is impossible but to another alien life form the same distance may actually be relatively small to them. New discoveries in Space have often turned conventional scientific thinking on it's head ,so it wouldn't be too hard to imagine that what the experts think they know about the laws of physics and the Universe may actually prove false in the years to come when more and more of the Universe is slowly revealed to Man.
No sightings over major cities?
What about the famous sightings over Washington in 1952?
http://www.ufocasebook.com/washingtondc1952.html
Or the more recent mass sightings over Phoenix, Arizona in 1997
http://www.cnn.com/US/9706/19/ufo.lights/
Or even more recently, the mass daytime sighting over Mexico city in 2005?
http://www.rense.com/general66/sant.htm
I don't pretend to know what these objects are, but to say that they only ever appear in remote, sparsely populated areas and not over major cities isn't quite accurate.

shoeshine 04-05-2007, 11:41 For those interested in reading the UFO Reports held by the Ministry of Defence it appears as though they are about to be made available on their website soon. :)
From today's Independent Online
Bombarded by requests to see the evidence, the Ministry of Defence is to release Britain's official documents of UFO sightings, so the public can judge for themselves whether we are being visited by alien life forms.
A spokeswoman for the MoD said: "We are receiving a lot of requests at the moment to see this information so we have decided to put the reports on our website. But to give this some sort of context we have only ever been interested in reports that have a defence perspective."
The decision will be a blow to Britain's conspiracy industry which has found the MoD's secrecy over UFO sightings compelling evidence of a cover-up. It was only recently that the MoD acknowledged that a government UFO unit, known as S4F (Air) or DI55, even existed.
They will make for interesting reading. :)

I suspect you might be his co-pilot in disguise :D
But seriously, any advanced civilisation will eventually become immortals, or build immortal AI, so time and distance will be no obstacle. The galaxy is probably teeming AI probes and all our petty lives are being broadcast on WolfStar#9 Discovery Channel.
Have you ever read 'Armageddon: The Musical' by Robert Rankin? All his books are ACE but this one adresses this very subject - super advanced aliens spying on humans and broadcasting goings-on as a soap opera called The Earthers. Read it read it it's really good.

Sounds brilliant, a super advanced species that has the ability to spy on and learn from other civilisations and all the author can write about is reality TV.
No really it's brilliant, it's a comedy, check it out pleeease you won't regret it, the guy's a genius. He's been described as 'The drinking mans' H.G.Wells'

I think it's CGI, my only real logic behind thinking this is that for that craft to move away with such acceleration it would require a lot of power. Why flash all of your quite large lights when surely it would be a better idea to save power, the lights also seem to be a little too sharp when compared to the rest of the image. Also why did the video stop there? Surely the camera operator would have been ecstatic to see such a thing. Are there lengthier versions of the clip out there?

To be honest, I wasn't a believer but after trying to read that I'm begining to think an alien form is now posting on SF.

Listen thee! :hihi: We like UFO's, and little green folk whizzing everywhere! :hihi:
It's far better than the "Global Warming" proponents who have discovered a new industry for making money out of us all doing the "Dustbin Dance" every week and reinforcing our bl**dy slavery to a purely hypothetical, uncontrollable duty to, in their words, "SAVE THE PLANET".
They buy Bentley's, and travel First Class on Airlines everywhere out of the proceeds.....we are exhorted by them to buy bicycles! :hihi:
Jabberwocky 04-05-2007, 16:51 Last night, on the way home form the sister in laws, the other half and I saw a brilliant bolide meteor right above us in the sky. It looked like a sky rocket-all sparks with a slightly pinkish-orange tint, and as we watched, it passed over us and fizzled away to nothing.
Ive been a sky watcher all my life and never seen anything quite as beautiful as that.
That could have easily been mistaken for a UFO, but the nice gentlemen in black suits who were waiting at our front door as we arrived home assured us that it was in fact a meteor.

http://www.sacred-texts.com/ufo/coverup.htm
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shadowlands/6583/coverup043.html
In the immortal words of Fox Mulder... "I want to believe" But this does seem a bit far-fetched, even given the credentials of Mr Lear.
That we are not the only intelligent life in the universe, I have no doubt. That we are not the most technologically advanced race in the universe, I have no doubt either. But it certainly does seem unlikely that any being would want to travel billions and billions of miles to abduct a drunk hillbilly and insert things in him where only customs normally dare to probe, or draw pointless circles in crop fields. Why not abduct intelligent, important people? Why not abduct the Prime Minister?
But then again, maybe Tony Blair and George Bush have been abducted by aliens and replaced with clones entrusted with a mission to make mankind destroy itself, therefore making the invasion of Earth a lot simpler. Who knows?

It's a really old fake. Been knocking around for years. There's so much junk on YouTube, you have to take it all with a pinch of salt.
This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfmWgglkGHQ) is what I call quality faked moon landing footage.
muddycoffee 04-05-2007, 19:44 Their first album sounds extremely dated, but Force it and Obsession are brilliant in my opinion.

Class, pure class! Love it!
Just a quick point I thought I'd share.
The UN General Assembly is to debate "establishing diplomatic relations with advanced Extraterrestrial Civilizations that may now be visiting Earth." The may now phrase in their press release raised a few eyebrows in UFO circles, quite apart from the nature of the debate itself.
Also, it's interesting that numerous countries are releasing their UFO files into the public domain, including France, Brazil, and now Britain, sparking inevitable discussions amongst ufologists about a process of gradual disclosure by the world's governments. Paul Hellyer, former Canadian defence minister, is calling for a parliamentary hearing on Exopolitics - relations with alien civilisations:
"UFOs, are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head. The United States military are preparing weapons which could be used against the aliens, and they could get us into an intergalactic war without us ever having any warning... Now is the time for open disclosure that there are ethical Extraterrestrial civilizations visiting Earth".
I can't quite see Geoff Hoon releasing that as a press statement. It's a funny old world, ain't it?

Y` see, I was out and about at that time, I saw the jets and took a drive along the Strines the following Saturday. There was a lot of stuff going off and tons of Air force and Army personnel and blokes in big cars and suits. There were also three sea king helicopters and more coppers than you could shake a truncheon at.
We decided to make a day of it and go into Castleton but we were stopped from going into the place by a policeman. There were quite a few people stopped from entering Castleton that day.
Bolide meteor, eh...?
if i dont see it then its not there show me one and ill go along with it lol
Refusal to consider a very substantial body of eyewitness accounts because you've not been party to it shows a degree of ignorance. If you were born blind you'd be skeptical of the world and everything in it - including, due to the fact that you couldn't see your face in the bathroom mirror, yourself.
