Does anyone know what actually happened to Brian & Kurt?

View Full Version : Teachers jessycar 05-11-2004, 15:04 Does anyone know what actually happened to Brian & Kurt? Skatiechik 05-11-2004, 15:07 I was wondering that too. Edd 05-11-2004, 15:22 Well...they are dead...i worked that much out. But the TV was on in the other room for the first five minutes of the series, so i missed if it revealed how they died etc. The pre-titles bit of the first episode featured the other teachers swinging by the graveyard after the pub to urinate on their graves. :o Shame really...kurt and brian were a world-class double-act. :( Lickable 05-11-2004, 15:28 The show was struggling season 3, and it had to wipe the slate clean, as many of us were still hanging onto the hope that Simon would return. Brian and Kurt were truley brilliant but were the only reason that the chracter simon would actually come back. Killing the two off and not exlaining it was really clever. Now nobody hopes for their return, and we can move on and enjoy the writing, and the new cast. nomme 05-11-2004, 15:38 There's a 'Teachers' forum here: http://community.channel4.com/eve/ubb.x?a=frm&s=162603557&f=327003098 Nomme Siān 05-11-2004, 15:51 I thought those graves were symbolic graves myself :P Great scene involving them :D I just assumed we can take it as read they lost their jobs in the school merger. jessycar 05-11-2004, 16:03 Originally posted by Edd Well...they are dead...i worked that much out. Just wondered if anyone knew anything else. Sian> I wondered that too. Siān 05-11-2004, 16:10 I saw the scene - Lindsay pointing out to Penny how much Brian'd love it if she did the same to his grave was the scene I meant ;) max 05-11-2004, 17:16 I just assumed they died in the fire which destroyed their old school which was mentioned in passing to explain the merger. waggy 08-11-2004, 00:26 Ive been disapointed with series 3, just doesnt seem as funny being about bob. beckb 08-11-2004, 16:43 Originally posted by jessycar Does anyone know what actually happened to Brian & Kurt? I am in mourning for Brian. I loved Brian! Mmmmmmm! Its not the same without him being horrible to his PE students. Siān 08-11-2004, 22:46 There was a grave for the English teacher ( Matt?) too wasn't there ? Lindsey said that he'd gone back to his wife after their affair so that one at least has to have been a symbolic grave ??? Killing off Brian & Kurt was too much culling I agree :( Geoff 14-12-2004, 13:39 I used to be a big fan of Teachers on Channel 4. Back a few series ago, when Andrew Lincoln left, the other two main characters (the sports teacher and his side-kick) managed to just about keep the show rolling. However, these two have now also disappeared and I'm left wondering what the heck happened? Did they all ask for too much money? Or did C4 think we wouldn't notice that virtually all the core characters have now been replaced with second-rate clones!? Watched about 5 minutes of this new bunch and turned over a) because the fact they were trying too hard to fill the boots of the previous cast and b) well it's just not the same any more! Opinions? Yodameister 14-12-2004, 13:46 Probably the only thing wrong is it exceeded its shelf life. 2 Series is generally enough for any series I reckon unless there are serious changes to what the show is all about and the issues/storylines it tackles. igm1 14-12-2004, 14:08 I never watched the earlier ones but I started watching this series. I'm impressed with it, but I guess I can't really compare it with the previous series. Cyclone 14-12-2004, 14:18 i watched all the first series, most of the 2nd series, nothing since. It used to be good man, back in my day. Lickable 14-12-2004, 15:59 1st was great, Second was better, third was going down hill, 4 Its ok, but should of based it on a completly different school in a different town. I believe its trying to hard to be the same as previous, but still it can be funny. I think, one more after this, then it should rest. sparklesista 14-12-2004, 16:03 Originally posted by Geoff I used to be a big fan of Teachers on Channel 4. I agree! The first bunch of Teachers were so hilarious I nearly wet myself watching every episode! After the the main guy left the other 2 "sidekick" teachers were just enough to keep the show watchable but now it just doesn't have the same feel to it. I guess it would probably be ok if I had not watched the earlier series but I don't think replacing cast members on anything does a programme any good. It's just not the same! :( Edd 14-12-2004, 20:32 Actually, this new lot of characters are starting to grow on me now. Especially Ben the neurotic/hypochondriac RE teacher (Maybe he reminds me of myself :help: ) Anyone else been enjoying this series as much as meee?!:hihi: :D beckyaa 14-12-2004, 21:15 Yep, I'm watching it right now, and I was sceptical at the beginning of the series, but the characters are really growing on me. It's not the same as with Simon, Brian and Kurt, but it's not half bad either. Loved the different themed weeks - especially the dieting week Siān 15-12-2004, 12:42 Especially Ben the neurotic/hypochondriac RE teacher Yup agree with you about Ben - the series still makes me laugh out loud even though it's changed a fair bit due to the change of characters. |
