View Full Version : Devo playing Manchester in June NEKRO138 13-04-2007, 08:11 Probably will sink straight to the bottom with no posts, but I'm over the ****ing moon to be honest with you. BlankFrack 13-04-2007, 08:23 I'll almost certainly forget about it and end up not going but I have to agree that this is pant-wettingly exciting! Have you ever come across DEV2.0? It's their side project made up of 12 year olds doing Devo songs in a style supposed to appeal to da yoof of today. It's quite astounding and highly recommended (although a lot of my Devo loving chums were pretty horrified so maybe it only works if you like Devo and S Club 7 like me!) NEKRO138 13-04-2007, 08:29 I don't know if I have come across that. I did once see some really young school kids dressed in devo gear singing Whip It, so maybe that was it. Tickets are £35!!!! But I don't...think....I...can...resist! BlankFrack 13-04-2007, 08:40 I don't know if I have come across that. I did once see some really young school kids dressed in devo gear singing Whip It, so maybe that was it. Tickets are £35!!!! But I don't...think....I...can...resist! That'll be them! They do a great version of Uncontrollable Urge on the LP. Shame they don't do Mongoloid though  Anyway back to the gig - THIRTY FIVE QUID?!?!?!?! To watch a bunch of old men wearing flowerpots on their heads?!?!?! IT'S A BARGAIN!! :D NEKRO138 13-04-2007, 08:45 I was also after a couple of albums called something like hardcore Devo, which is raw versions of the songs. Looking into this Dev2.0, they're a Disney thing! What's all that about! http://disney.go.com/disneyrecords/Song-Albums/devo20/ Why didn't my parents get me into Dev2.0 when I was younger? For the first time, I think they've failed me. BlankFrack 13-04-2007, 08:51 Ha ha - yeah, I forgot to mention the Disney thing! It's kosher Devo product though - Gerald Casale put it together and they all play on the LP. Genius idea IMHO  Treatment 13-04-2007, 10:28  I didn't know that Devo were still going ! Are we not men ? We are Devo .:loopy: NEKRO138 13-04-2007, 10:37 They've been touring Japan and the US a lot, but have pretty much ignored the UK until now. Muslin 13-04-2007, 11:33 Devvo played Sheffield recently and was quite good.... byevilroot 13-04-2007, 15:18 I enjoy gut feeling. you guys like brian eno too? think he produced we are not men. byevilroot 13-04-2007, 15:21 Probably will sink straight to the bottom with no posts, but I'm over the ****ing moon to be honest with you. you're probably right, which is why the world is wrong. |
