I moved into my boyfriends house several months ago leaving my mum and our dog Alfie back home. Missed Alfie like crazy and I've been trying to persuade my boyfriend to get a dog but he's been having none of it. Part of it was that he was seriously attacked by a dog when he was younger (although he's ok with dogs he didn't want one in such close proximity) and he's a bit of a neat freak so didn't want muddy paws everwhere. Fair enough I thought.... compromise!

Until a strange thing happened...........

My mum got married at the end of last month and we've been doggy sitting Alfie. She came back this morning. My boyfriend has had to leave the house this evening because.... he can't bear to watch my mum take him back :hihi: . He's genuinely absolutely devastated that he's leaving. It just goes to show what an impact a dog can have on your life even after such a short time they become part of the family.

Anyway to ease the blow I've promised that this weekend we'll go and look for a dog for him:) YIPEE!!!!

(we're very sneaky about getting our own way us girls)

Ooh well done princess ;)
I know what you mean, when you've been used to having a dog in the house it seems so empty without one :( my OH didn't understand until we got Gadget... now he knows exactly what I mean :)
Although he is also a clean freak, and not all that impressed with his clothes/sofa/car constantly being covered in dog fur

Awww what a nice story "men" eh :hihi: there are loads of beautiful dogs in rescues why not make a list and do a weekend tour it would be fun, and your OH would see how much the dog needs a good home

My bloke was the same at first too! Didn't really like the idea of a dog and said he wasn't a dog person, then slowly warmed to it. Now we have Lilly he wouldn't be without her and misses her terribly if he's even away from her for an evening :)

My hubby said he didn't want a dog, but got overruled. 12 years later, he still only endures having her around, he has never really warmed to her, although he did let me save her life by getting her an operation she needed last year - even though it was very expensive, so maybe deep down he cares :|
