Okay, what is the deal with Diet Coke...?

On the plus side it has trace cals, trace fat...

But on the flip side it has sweeteners, colours, chemicals, CAFFEINE and all other kinds of junk in it... Making it addictive and all that

I prefer it to the regular version :)

When it first came out (I was about 14) I drank far too much of it... about six cans a day!:o
I choose it over regular coke but that's because i prefer the taste.

I never used to drink it all that much... But I'm currently working along side the train of thought that I'm not hungry - I'm thirsty... Diet coke bloats me so I dont eat unneccessarily... But if its as bad for your body as scoffing a mars bar, I'd pick the mars! lol

Most, if not all, diet drinks taste horrible, it's the chemicals they use to replace sugar.

I'd rather have the regular version or nothing, at least sugar is natural.

Diet Coke is Satan's Sweat, IMO.

Not that I have an issue with it, at all.... :D

The main thing that concerns me is the fact that it contains Aspartame.

Jury still out, but it's the one additive in foods which has ever given me a really bad reaction.

Diet Doctor Pepper is the best but just don't see it much anymore.

Tried Coke Zero - still tastes very chemically, but it wasn't very cold, so may give it another go.

Diet coke, or any drinks with caffeine are not that great. I drink it, only when I'm out dining and it's the only choice I like with low sugar. I should go for juices, but then again, juice and meat do not go together, so I avoid that too. Cos it does give me a queasy stomach.

Refreshing.. Gosh Coke zero seems pretty decent but as someone else said only drink once in a while as a 'treat', i cant remember the last time i drank normal coke. Diet coke taste vile in my opinion, pepsi maxi you can barely taste the diff with pepsi..

They only appear when you've been drinking it because its about 1am and youve been on it since 7pm and mixed the Diet Coke with a number of items i.e. Tia Maria, Vodka, Malibu, Rum, Whisky (or all of them ), therefore any bloke by this time will appear sexy :hihi: :hihi: :gag:

I've never had that problem with a drink, If I drink eough to make me ill it's usually because I like the drink so I still like it the next day. I'm a firm believer of the hair of the dog that bit you.

haven't read the whole thread, but diet drinks are stoopid. the sweeteners in them trigger the release of enzymes that break down sugar, and linked to this, it prepares your body for a sugar hit. when the sugar hit doesn't arrive as expected, your body responds by making you feel hungry. consequently you go out and buy crisps and chocolate. in short: drink diet drink - get fat.

Pepsi Max gives me terrible wind, I keep blowing the covers off the bed :hihi:

IMO they're all :gag: :gag: :gag: I occasionally get a craving for a fizzy drink, then I have a few sips and can't take any more!
My alternative is to mix fruit juice with fizzy water, tastes much better and has few calories and fewer nasty chemicals!

The chemicals in Diet Cike literally make your teeth disintegrate

I'm a late night snacker - the very worst kind! But a glass of Diet Coke about 9pm when I'm working keeps me through til the next morning, so I keep off naughty foods lol
