I have lifetime cover for my 2 dogs through Marks and spencers. Alot of people on here use them. The reason I use them is because they dont have an excess charge (as long as you pay abit extra a month, about £1 I think).

I would make sure you go for lifetime cover not 12 months because if your pet gets an illness which will effect it for a long time e.g. diabetes if you only have the 12 month policy after that expires they wont renew it.

Hope that helps chick :)

We recommend AFI (Animal Friends Insurance) - there is a link from our site.
Always paid out to people we know for death and illness.
AFI donate 100% of their profits to animal welfare - which is obviously good news for us.

Plus if you tell them its via us - they donate £5.00 to us.

What are you confused about BM?

It's a minefield isn't it?

I have no idea who to go with, all I want is whole of live cover, pref no excess and pay the vet direct. All I've seen so far won't do all 3 or if they do, don't pay out on death etc

Hi,

M&S is the only pet insurance which offers 'no excess'
Your vet decides who they will apply to direct, all insurance companies will pay direct to vets if your vet will allow it.
All insurance companies should offer lifetime cover
M&S do pay out on death.

There are all very similar, if excess is important then you should go with M&S. They will pay your vet direct if your vet allows it.

They are all much of a muchness though chick :)

We are with lloyds for Merlin and they are fantastic, pay directly to the vets too and we only pay an excess fee once in any year.

For Sapphire we are with Sainsburys - they are the only pet insurers we could find who will accept your pet as a new customer once they are over 8 years old. They accepted her when she was 10 and she is now 15 and no problems.

We have just gone with M&S for our new pup, one of the cheapest I could find and no excess.

Perfect!
