Fez club shut, Bed who knows, and kingdom BAH!

Where is the decent music played these days? House, Soul and anything propgressive or with a break beat will suffice. Live percussion is also good.

I've been going to the Forum on Saturdays for a while, but since they built that damn swimming pool outside you have to pay to get in. It's crowded and expensive and it just won't do.

Tell me what i'm missing.

not sure if good house music exists. Breaks at UG.

This saturday- head kandi @ GC1, every friday- pinup@ bar matrix, and i know takepuna also has some good nights on too.

Hustle is a good house night.
Cheek put on some good house nights here and there.

lounge Bar for quality house, soul etc. Check out when Marek is playing, his sets are so varied it's untrue, plus the bars open late!!! Enjoy.

Hed Kandi does not equal 'good' house music.

Since we lost the fez club, you have to search very damn hard to find credible, underground house music in Sheffield unfortunately.

Your best bet is to search out the more house-orientated line ups at Urban Gorilla, or check the stuff scuba and pinup are putting on at Matrix.

I thinks its a strong line up for £6........ shame there aren't a few more 6am licences kicking around.....

certainly seems it. i think places should just be able to open till when ever. too many bars close at 12 i reckon

is the uni often good for house or is this a bit of a one off?

I've not seen anything else like this at the Uni, it is though very possible that I've missed stuff. I would suspect that this is just an one off and that the union will be back to normal - whatever that is - next Friday.

Also why do clubs have a last entry policy at 3am? Remember being turned away from Basics, as it was well past three...and ending up in this place that was a smidgen on the rough side.
