Both Microsoft and my antivirus program tell me that I need to login as administrator in order to download upgrades. I am not on a network. I have one desktop computer at home. Any ideas.

Do you get a login box when you start the computer?

If so, try typing "Administrator" as the username, leave the password blank and click login. If that works you are logged in as administrator. You will probably want to password protect that account, and you could also set up the user that you usually log in as as an administrator account as well.

No- users should recognise that forum admins don't like having extra work created for no reason and stop dredging up old threads before they find that they can't post any more ;)
