HI, I'm fond of chinese cresteds too- I registered with the breed rescue society, but they dont come up very often and we havent been successful so far.
Being a small breed, I think litters are quite small too, hence not many being registered as puppies and I suspect breeders like to hang on to their breeding bitches/ studs.

We also considered an English Toy Terrier or Miniature Pinscher and hope to get one to live with our daft dobermutt one day.
Try

or

or

and be prepared to travel some distance to see the breed. Good luck xK

hehe it'd be like little and large katkin! A mini pin and a dobie!

Sorry... it just made me giggle!! My friend has a mini pin and he's a fab little guy.

Crested are such lovely little dogs ... I had two which I adopted at the ages of 5 and 3 and they were such characters. They do need a bit of looking after, due to the fact that they're mostly skin and need exfoliating and also protection from the sun. Oh and the fact that they only have partial dentition and can't always cope with large pieces of food.

Other than that, they're pretty hardy. I really miss them and have registered with breed rescues myself, but have only been offered an old one of 14 which I didn't think I could cope with the inevitable, as both mine died shortly after they were 14 :(

If you do come across a local breeder, will you let me know too, please?

I just want a little companion dog ... do they ever have any ex breeding queens they might need to rehome, do you know? I'd prefer an older dog rather than a pup anyway, but not one that's on its last legs, for obvious reasons.

I know, I know, but they are so cute - and I know of peoplel who own dobes and miniature dachshunds- now THAT is an interesting combination!

Well anyone up to about 6 years old probably, bitch or dog. I'm not fussy, have had both in the past.

I'm just worried about taking on an old one, because you get to love them and then the inevitable comes sooner than one would like or can cope with :(

Can you pm it to me please? I only found one on the internet, which only had the two old ones to offer. This can't be the same one, as they said they'd let me know.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated :) Hope you soon get the dog of your dreams too!
