Can anyone give me some advice or tips on creating fonts. Basically I want to create a font in my handwriting style. I had the idea of writing each letter down individually, scanning them in, tracing over them in Photoshop then somehow converting each character..sounds a bit long winded and I'm not convinced this is the best way.
As it would be a truetype font I could then use it in most Windows applications.
Note : I am unable to download any possibile free fonts from t'internet (security systems). :help:

Just out of pure boredom I did a quick search and found this little nugget.

Could be pretty useful :)

There are companies that will produce a TTF from your handwriting, if you send them a sample.

Quick Google turns up this site:

http://www.quantumenterprises.co.uk/handwriting/hwahandwritingfont.htm

which does it for £8.95

Considering it will take you the best part of the day to learn how to do it, and actually do it - it probably worth the money. And how are you going to download font creation software if you can't download a TTF file?

Which is why I asked the question in the first place.
