Dave Woodcock & The Dead Comedians
After stepping into the breach as late replacements at last week's Americana Night, and also having rounded of our recent Springsteen Tribute in fine style, we welcome back Dave Woodcock & The Dead Comedians for a third show in recent weeks. The night will be a special one for them as it will see the launch of their new album 'Wednesday's Child'. Dave's songs deal unflinchingly with love and its consequences - happiness, unhappiness, loss, loneliness and drinking. He used to front alt rock folk country blues punks Taste of Shotgun before combining all his influences to create something unique. Woodcock has been compared favourably with the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Lou Reed and Joe Strummer, with one reviewer commenting: "Blinding....Dave has an onstage presence which few can touch, naturally laid back and cool straight out of a Clint Eastwood movie" (soundaloud.com).

The Tenderloin & Neil McLarty
Imagine the Happy Mondays doing Alt-Country. Say hello to The Tenderloin. Now resident in Leeds, The Tenderloin were originally put together about six years ago by Nick Wallace (piano and vocals), Mike Hurst (accordion, Rhodes and vocals) and Dave Bertram (guitar and vocals). Dave came up with the name Tenderloin after a district of his native San Francisco. Nick and Mike continued with the name back in West Yorkshire and continued to write play and perform in the area. Although Nick is the only original member of Tenderloin they continue to evolve with long standing members Ged Crefin (drums, percussion and guitar), Don Mort (guitar and vocals), Tom Turner (keyboards and vocals) completeing the current line up along with Scottish singer/songwriter Neil McLarty who had been performing bass duties. Having now merged into one outfit, Neil McLarty's own material has been introduced into the Tenderloin's set, and you can also expect to see hiim taking on acoustic guitar and harmonica duties. Heavily influenced by Americana and Alternative Country, Neil's music is often compared to artists such as Steve Earle and Ryan Adams.
They proved very popular on the night back in February when they appeared at Under The Boardwalk and we look forward to welcoming them back again.

Bronco Bailey Rides Again
Formally one half of The Enquiry, Bronco Bailey Rides Again have gone all acoustic and mellowed out their country tinged indie pop just a little. This will be their first proper gig with the new line up but you can still expect to hear some of the old favourites from the pen of singer/songwriter Dave Sleney, infact we're told new material is on the horizon already. Guitarist Greg Bocking completes the duo. The previous band went down very well on their previous visit to West Street Live, and we fully expect the new sound to prove just as much of a success. Although the new band are yet to record, you can hear some of the songs expected to feature on the night as recorded by The Enquiry here:

The Blues Theatre Script
The Blues Theatre Script get the evening underway. The Blues Thatre Script are Ian Cross and Andrew Duxfield, a musical partnership that began some ten years ago in a young blues/rock four piece in home town Ormskirk, Lancashire. Now they live in Sheffield and write and play acoustic music as a duo. Regulars on the Sheffield circuit, you can take a listen to some of the tracks from their recent EP at their MySpace page:
