Of course I dont mean personally...
I found a load of larvae in one of my pots outside and now I'm really disappointed because I have been spending ages out in the yard in the last couple of months getting it to look beautiful :( and I'm worried that to buy nematoids or pesticides or whatever to treat it, is going to be really expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions?

An old friend of mine used to buy Meths from me to treat around his vine by washing. I am almost certain that Meths is an old treatment for Vine Weavil.

Hi. You can buy some stuff from the garden centre/B&Q. I think it is called Provado. You make it up and just water it on, but it is expensive. The best way is to just empty the compost out onto the ground, and watch the birds have a feast. They adore vine weavil grubs. lol.

Thanks for your suggestions - I did actually get some Parvardo today. I would love to give em to the birds but all of my plants are in pots and it might have got a bit messy!

I can recommend Provado. It is expensive but it got rid of vine weevils from an expensive pot plant in the garden and it's stayed weevil free for 2 years

Well I did this last week and (fingers crossed) nothing has died so I'm hoping that's it. Provado is good, but horrible stuff ;) .

Did you apply it in a watering can ?

yup. It tells you how much on the bottle. It looks kind of milky :gag: and you put it with water in a watering can and just drench all the plants in pots. Seemed quite toxic so I just made sure my cats were kept in until the sun had dried up the puddles!
