i was wondering if any one goes to sheff university. if so what subject do you do!!

Interesting question. Do you think that a breakdown of student use would reveal a nerdy computer science/techie slant, or do you reckon students are universally internet users nowadays? I suspect the latter, although just a few years ago the former would have shown up. Just as the Web is in use right across the non-student population now. We're all geeks now, ladies and gentlemen.

I was at Sheffield University, but I graduated in 2003. I did Archaeology and Medieval History.

I teach the uni jiu jitsu club, but never went to the uni.

I finished my MSc degree, automatic control systems on 2003, and now I'm on a PhD research degree on soft-computing modelling.

I have to agree that there are many 'web surfers' amongst the student population but there are also some good researchers as well...

MSc Human Osteology and Funerary Archaeology.

We're on here because we have so much work to do using a computer and this is a very convenient distraction!

1st year English Language and Linguistics.

I've been really enjoying the course. It's been pretty demanding so far, but the lecturers are all so good, they keep you interested.

I come from Sheffield so I will be able to live at home for a year whilst I am studying. I've been living in Southampton for over two years now, and I've done the whole "Pot-Noodle munching / living with my mates / red bills through the letterbox" thing.

The writing degree I'm doing at the moment isn't all that thrilling, so I'm looking forward to actually learning something useful. I'm glad the hear-say about Linguistics is positive, and I hope the university lives up to its reputation.

Suppose I'd better hurry up and finish filling in my application form then!

I did Computer Science for a semester and a half. Only one person in my tutor group passed the year at first attempt!

I did history at shef uni finishing last year. It was great!

I did politics at Sheffield, graduating in 1997. I then ended up working there for a bit via an agency on less than £5/hour - much good the degree did me!

in my last year studying mental health nursing, but im based out at wath

I graduated in 2000 with an English Lit degree- loved it! Loved Sheffield too as I'm still here. Worked in Sheff for 4 years and I'm now doing an MA in Arts & Heritage Management. Its much more challenging, especially after a break from studying of a few years.
