View Full Version : Where can I take my Boyfriend?
Blackrose 02-11-2004, 19:34 Hiya!!
My boyfriend is coming over to Sheffield..
I have recenly moved in to Sheffield and do not really know where to take him..
Any ideas of places to go?
Secondly, I'd like to go with him to a nice restaurant (but with reasonable prices).. eg. italian, chinese, indian etc. I want it to be romantic..
Also, could anyone tell me about chinese, indian or italian reaturant "eat as much as you want"? (that I pay once-how much-and eat as much as I want) My boyfriend is a very hungry man!! Hi hi;-)
Thanks for your help!!!

I've heard from my parents that Papa Sicios (not sure of the spelling) at Crosspool is a great Italian restaurant.
Never been myself though
Hope your boyfriend has a good time in Sheffield, hope you get used to Sheffield

I always feel thats the prefect date. Watching a loved one eat so much that his trouser button pops off and pings you in the face. Ohhhhhhh the romance. Why not afterwards get the kindlly restaurantiers to carry him to a kebab outlet to carry on this romantic evening and then off to the wicker to find a pub that is so cheap you can buy 10 pints for a tenner. I'm going to start crying as this is soooooooo sweet!! To round off the perfect evening you could pop down to our beautiful outpaitents unit to have his stomach pumped from both ends and his heart restarted! Who said romance was dead?
I hope he brings flowers and a bucket!!
After all this fun he can then emigrate to america where your eating habits would go un-noticed, until a Jerry Springer special in which they would have to remove the side of your mobile home to get you out and transport you to the studio on a truck. Just think, you'd be famous!!
Enjoy your meal!

Ousetunes 03-11-2004, 08:41 Jumbo Chinese near the Crucible Theatre is great value for money. It's on George Street in town and depending on what time you go you pay something like (please don't quote me here) £5 each in the afternoon; £6 each in the evening raising to something like £8 each after - say - nine o'clock.
I have been here three times with my family and extended family (and boy, can THEY eat) and as yet everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it. You can eat as much as you like as long as you don't just pile it up and waste it.
Best advice is to go as early as you can. Why not do a Sunday lunchtime then traipse round a few pubs in town afterwards?
Infact, sod yer boyfriend and take me.....,
Robbie Loving 03-11-2004, 08:51 Agreed with Oustunes, jumbo near crucible!!
go at night and not at dinner though, its a Grand Buffet
Fireondaroof 03-11-2004, 10:07 Agreed for the buffets you require, I would recommend Jumbo's and No 1 buffet near Ponds Forge, there is also an Indian buffett night on Monday, on the corner near Don Valley Stadium.
For romantic meals try the resturants in the Oasis in Meadowhall, they have candlelit dinners, then you can combine it with shopping aswell ;)

Blimey. This is just like that "where to take my girlfriend on our first anniversary?" thread a few weeks back.
So the answer is the same really. The back of the bus, urgently. Or, if you want some privacy, under the boulder in Heeley Park. Quality.
Then on to somewhere like the New India Garden or Everest Indian down at Meersbrook. Portion control isn't part of the vocabulary there. Thence to the Sheaf View for fine ale and so, as Dr Johnson would have it, to bed. What a great date.
NatalieSheff 03-11-2004, 11:16 cubanas is nice behind takapunas on west street, also k pasa and que tal at th eother end of west street - massive portions in the last two, and if you live near hillsborough, there is a sneaky little restaurant called sette colli near the roundabout near kfc and pizza hut
jumbo again ive been a few times and will continue to go there its ok
eat as much as u like, i do think they clear the tables quickly though but its still ok
Rossmeister 05-11-2004, 11:20 For cheap, quality chinese in a trendy environment, you cannot beat East One near Revolution.
