I was saddened to read about this in the paper. This goes well beyond mindless vandalism. I only hope the people involved might suffer ANY guilt after these events.

Indeed, one of the key characteristics of a psychopath is a history of torturing animals in youth. It's never 'just' an animal, because that vicious and cold sadism carries over into human relationships too.

I find especially galling the fact that the project that was trashed was for vulnerable and excluded people - the very group that the abused and abusive scum probably fall into, but they chose to destroy it. That utter lack of empathy is what marks detritus like this. When are we going to wake up and take seriously the fact that good parenting is not about material things, it is about humanity and emotional intelligence (and not purely a matter of physical discipline, either). There is an epidemic of breeding which does not produce civilised humanity, but lawless and feral animals.

It will be a couple/few lads aged 13-17/18 whom also have a liking for fires, the mentality of them is quite disturbing. Killing for pleasure should be punished harshly, they should also be forced to eat the birds to teach them one should only kill for food. If it takes a while to catch them, then they should eat them gone off.

evil little s**ts- I was sickened when I read about this on the star's website- they want more than an asbo, whatever their ages. How can anyone do something so cruel?

This is not the first time there's been vandalism at the allotments, but it is the first time the police have responded with any interest.

Perhaps if they'd taken the matter a little more seriously before, and done something about it, this appalling situation would never have arisen.

I wonder if the police's sudden burst of enthusiasm has anything to do with the coverage of the incident on TV and in the Star?

I don't think they were having a go at people on benefits on general, just wishing to stop benefits for scum, scum who aren't on benefits could be fined :)

Its beyond me how people can do this. They HAVE to feel at least a little guilt about this, and the thought that there are people actually walking upright on the streets who would do a thing like this leaves me cold.

These were racing pigeons. Someones pets. Someone took the time to love these animals and take care of them. It doesn't matter what spiecies it is it's still wrong. :rant:

The pigeons and vandalised site were not just someone's personal effects, they were an amenity for people in the community. The attack showed the extent of the contempt the little darlings had for society, including those who were doing something to try to help.

I also worry about those who say ' sooner pigeons than humans'
The people who do this to animals are doing it for fun or whatever it is they get out of it, it is not helpful to the progession of the human race.
